                • Fixed my right rear window reg today. Feels good.
                  Seems like the design has numerous points that could be improved, hopefully those were addressed in the mk4...

                        • spent the last hour or so googling / forum searching for an answer but cant find it.

                          looking for a fairly problem free rear speaker install .....GL 2.0L

                          what speakers fit without heaps of mods under the stock speaker grill? or know key dimensions to look for?

                          I know I will have to trim the plastic locating tabs off the door panel

                          I don't have factory rear speakers, so will the wiring be there? or at least as far as the door pillar?

                          my door looks like this when the door card is removed (borrowed pic from stefcio007's thanks) didn't take pic of mine when I had it off ages ago.

                          should I have a bracket like this to mount the speaker on or just mount it to the door card?

                          • lol, I remember that pic. Happy to say that now both rear doors have new window regs.

                            I mounted mine in the door card, it already has holes and it's where the OEM speaker was. I'd say from that second pic the holes for the speaker door car were ruined so they made a bracket that attaches to the door or they have deeper speakers.

                            • Found out today that the thing I was tightening on the 01M trans was the boost regulator valve.
                              Here's an excerpt on what tightening it does;

                              "Turning the adjuster clockwise will increase boost pressure, line pressure and create firmer engagements as well as upshifts and downshifts. Counter clockwise reduces line pressure at idle and results in softer shifts. Each turn is approximately an 8 psi alteration. One turn is drastic and we suggest you go by 1/2 to 1/4 turns. The outcome of this adjustment is monitored at line pressure tap."

                              Also, has anyone ever replaced the diff oil? Benefits of doing it?

                              • Took the cab out for a drive for the first time after 3 weeks and realized that its got a massive oil leak and the cars super rough.

                                Really considering selling it as I can no longer afford to pump money into the car and want something reliable.
