hmm, well I might be able to store it at my parent's place. Just renewed the rego, told myself I would wait until it runs out again to seriously consider buying a car. Maybe I'll do just that. It has pretty low kms about 135k.
Decisions.

yeah, just comparing autos with autos, that's all.
At the moment nearly done 350km on one tank in the VR which maybe slightly better than usual. Might have a look at some 2.0, although MK4 appear to cost the same.
Have my eye on a 2.0 at the moment and going to see if I can take a look. Doesn't have RWC so would probably keep it parked and get it ready while the VR rego runs out.
Instrument cluster doesn't work.
But if someone can provide me links on how to remove it then I could possibly get a new one in.

Search it on youtube. Is a piece of piss to do. 4 screws.
Need Phillips head and a flat head to pry the plastic panels. VR6 cluster won't work so get one for a 4 cylinder

I ironically just figured it out without a guide.. o.o
What a simple car to work on haha
Either use 1 of the 2 from the cluster surround or just use 1. Will be fine provided the 2 connectors are in at the back
Thanks for the info.
Everything works as it should which I am stoked about. Just struggling to put the instrument cluster cover back on. Its being difficult haha.
Thanks for all the info everyone. Cars now working again

This is why I love the Mk3s, in my humble opinion they are the pinnacle of VW engineering - they were the last of the VW that were built to last (ie they are reliable, easy to maintain and repair).
I don't like the look of the MK5s, what were they thinking?
MK4 maybe, but DSG issues, unless they still stuck with TC? A lot of newer cars that don't use the torque converter are plagued with issues which has put me off any newer cars.
(should learn manual.........)
So quite tempted by this mid 2000s Prius which I found good reviews for and does 1,000km on one tank. Although found a MK3 2.0L which is 3.5 times cheaper!
Yeah, a lot of things on the MK3 are simple to do.
Past - '95 VW Golf MK3 VR6
Present - '11 Ford Focus LW Diesel (PSA DW10C)

Price the batteries for the prius and tell me you still want one
