How often do people with VRs change the oil? I've done a little over 5k with Penrite 15w60.

Saw Red VR6 on Monier Rd, Darra today across the road from BMW. Pretty sure it was himynameisbryce's car. Has what look like Gold BBS LM. Anyway it looked so good. Love it.

Well i don't actually know. Vortex threads suggest 5w30

5w-30 is a tad light for something that old. 15w-50/15w-60 seems about right

Managed to transport (safely) a bed frame from IKEA today no problems! I was impressed considering the box is ~197 cm long.

Yes Holy Sheit !!!
15w40 or 10w50
200k and over, use 10w50 with 6months oil changes or 5000km.
15w60 is to thick, lifters will suffer, and damage can be caused when the car is cold.

thanks heaps for the advice!
I hit over 124k-km and more than 5k-km on this oil and it is starting to look filthy.
I'm booked in for a major service this week so I should be running all healthy again.
