Mmmmm coming along quite nicely!
looks like the hard bits done
though is the engine transplant completely done ?
engine is done, received my loom tape today so that'll finished the engine up. Debating whether or not to install the new head or just do all the go fast goodies at once later....
and the hard bit is this prep stage! grinding was easy, I hate bogging and sanding.....
not sure man but I need to have it done by the end of the month or else i'm putting another 6months on the vento... would rather that rego go to the cabby...
21st is show day. Way keen for shenanigans and making a weekend out of it with all the interstate crowd! Love me a bit of ACT!
Haha, nice
Guys anyone here willing to shout me an engine harness plug, you know the big round one?? With enough wire to connect to would be a bonus too, haha......
Going to stop using photobucket since it seems to want to smash my jpegs with silly amounts of contrast?! moving to image shack! anyone know if this is an avoidable setting within photobucket?
anyway, took a pic of the factory wire loom tape that I'll use to wrap the loom once I know that the engine is wired right and running. For interest sake, the part number is 000 979 950 and is called "Klebeband".
I layed my EVIL dusting primer layer. Evil because if you've done body work before, this will expose how well you really did with your sandind/bogging prep. I started this with the intention of not getting too involved with the shave and smooth but once this was laid down, i've done more than I initially wanted to, haha.
Then after the unexpected further sanding and wire brushing, the first heavy coat. it's aight, it's no mental euro bay because I dont want to fill the bay with obscene amounts of bog, should look clean once it's all painted up
whilst I was removing the condenser from the front end, I thought to myself, I can't leave all this like this after doing what i'm doing to the rest of the bay.... so i've pulled it all apart, including the fans and painting it all too...
Tomorrow i'll sand back the primer in the bay, maybe lay one more coat down depending on how it looks and then lay some paint! Pretty keen to get some colour onto it
pinging to get this done next week ...... haha, hope the engine fires.....
