  • Coilovers are ordered. That is a stonking mk3 you have there. Never driven a sohc that wanted to rev so free. Felt like it had a lightened flywheel as unlikely as that sounds.

    • Yeah Id be very surprised if it did!

Well I got bored today and got a call from my mate who just recieved a pair of Performance Superlights, so went over to his workshop and tried them on.
Now, I knew they would have a bit of poke due to the sizes and offsets, but not quite this much

      Note, they are 15x8 ET-4 !!

Will try them on again once the cars on coils and a bit of camber is wound in, plus guards are rolled. Could work out pretty well and they look killa I reckon

          • I can get a set of these made up in 15x8 +4 rather than -4 which will bring them in a little bit. If my mate at the workshop (Garage 7) can get his account with Performance Wheels (which ill find out really soon), I can get them cheap cheap, which will be around 150 a wheel I think he said rather than 300 a wheel which most places charge :-\

              • They remind me of the Watanabe wheels! Always a classic. $300/wheel new is still pretty good for those I reckon!

Pity they're such a low offset

                      • I perused throught Performance's site the other night.. ahh... If only I had a little bit more money.

I think for my next project I might get some of these wheels, as I'm really at a loss of what wheels I could run (due to price and availiablity, alot of options are already gone... )

                        • I ordered a whole load of parts from GermanAutoParts the other day (Friday) and they got sent off on Monday. Got a note saying they were ready to pick up YESTERDAY (Wed)!!! Couldnt believe how fast it was coming from the US!!

Got new front HD strut top bushes, HD upper and lower rear bushes, HD control arm bush kit, few oil filters, breather hose and the stupid yellow part of the dipstick that ALWAYS break! All delivered for 170$ stupidly cheap compared to paying $140 here just for front OEM front bushes! Pretty stoaked

All goes in Sunday with the coilovers, cant wait

Also got a nice strutbrace which i fitted Tueday, all polished up now, looks good and makes a huge improvement in handling already. Alot less understeer and corners much better as i expected. Best bang for buck sus upgrade for sure

                              • Awesome, congrats! Get them on ASAP! If you thought a strut brace was an improvement, wait til you get the new bushings/mounts and no doubt the coilovers in!
