That too haha. Bflat on here did comment he could hear the induction noise from few blocks away on a busy Saturday morning. Not bad for what is essentially a stock intake system
so got the Vento to Albury for its first decent trip since road worthy.
while the short ratio box was a bit rev happy on the highway, it did make for great/easy over takes from 100km/h without changing back gears
oil temps were good, and tunnel temperature was hot at the start but cooled off for part of the trip, makes me think something in the exhaust system is loose and letting heat out into the engine bay which transfers to the tunnel and fire wall.
Once getting back to Melbourne thestu helped me fit up a more 'free flowing' Catalytic converter to see if that was the issue.
No help with the exhaust tunnel temps and I did lose some low end torque, but top end is breathing a little easier. Will throw the other cat back in and continue the hunt.
I did have a rear window reg let go a few minutes out of Albury. A quick pitstop featuring some well placed cardboard sorted it.
Once hole the good old cable tie trick fixed it. at the same time I replaced the rear passenger window switch. now the rear passenger can wind the window both up and down (only had up option before).
I had a vacuum leak on the rear drivers door. door card off relieved the hose had just fallen off.
the door pin wasnt working and found that had come free. reconnected it, door now locks fine, needs some love from the inside of the car to help it unlock though. will investigate further soon.
Picked up some eurowise aluminium bumper brackets thanks to sneaky pete.
Hopefully tidies up the floppy bumpers front and rear
pretty keen to get working on the body and start work on the paint.
Some snaps thanks to Lanky and Brad
stolen from facebook so quality is a bit low
unfortunately my Albury wheel plans didnt happen.
a random at the tyre shop had damaged the seal before the tyres went on it seems.
a solid last minute attempt was made to rectify the issue but it didnt all work out, this was made worse by the fact I cant remove the rear wheels in a hurry as the centre bore on the rear hubs seems to be oddly large (assuming after market of some kind)
Fitted my Eurowise bumper brackets to the front, much better!! I need to make some adjustment as it sits too high now, but it looks better.
Rears didnt go to plan, seems they cant be fitted directly to a vento rear which is where I wanted them most, might have to get creative to make them work.
Gave the Vento a bit of a clean up on the weekend.
Going to switch it up. ducts, headlights, tails, indicators, lip and wheels all changing in the next few weeks hopefully.
Futuras are for sale if anyone wants. need to buy firmer suspension for up and coming wheels.
