Its not your pcv valve diaphragm is it? When mine exploded it took me ages to figure out what was up with it, till i noticed the shattered remains of it under the car. Ran rough as hell and wouldnt idle properly, basically because unmetered air was getting sucked into it!

Looks fine to me . no cracks or leaks ( I do hope this is the part your talking about ? )

But I did get this

Its very Dirty is that expected ?
And what exactly is in here, Can I clean it ? Doesnt look to hard to take out.

thanks for pointing out possible issues DARK,
This is stopping me from baggin my car ! so the sooner I fix it the sooner its on Air !Last edited by vdubin; 22-10-2011, 08:29 PM.- VITS 2016 24th April -

actually the thing I meant is this

Its actually the air baffle for the idle control valve, it's located on the rear of the engine to the right slightly (between the firewall and the engine) can easily be seen from above. It may possibly just be cracked as well. It has sponge stuff inside which captures oil in the air flow. When mine blew it was just a nub of plastic where the hoses connected and a piece of sponge left!
vortex thread here
VWVortex.com - PCV Valve Diaphragm Exploded..
My car was inoperable when mine went, idling all crazy and stalling, sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders! Thought my engine was done!
May not be the same as your deal, but its a common issue.

Its cool Dark dont worry.Originally posted by dark View Postill take a shot of where it is tomorrow
I had a chat with my VW machanic today he thinks its something to do with the throttle body ECU.
Because any thing over 2000rpm it goes Sluggish & has no power.
Will restart the ECU go for a Drive see if its fixed if not Im taking it over to him so he can run hes Vag-com over it.- VITS 2016 24th April -

That be Awesome.
Like I said theres a high chance of it being the sensor & if it is having the part there good to go will be perfect.
Because after I take it for a drive then try start it again it basically floods itself with fuel the machanic was saying or once it gets warm it runs real bad so hes highly thinking its the sensor now.
Pm me what u want for it & your bank details.- VITS 2016 24th April -
