Needs a 5speed damn it! What a shame to have all that gear and run it through an auto.

who did the engine work?
with the adjustable FPR and bigger injectors it doesnt seem like your too concerned with fuel economy, but ill say it anyway, with the 80 degree thermostat you'll probably use a bit more fuel, unless the giac chip can factor it in. (other wise its always going to think its not hot enough, like its just warming up so its gonna run rich like at idle, you know?)

I did all the work at the w/shop . Ihave all the specs of the engine written down somewhere in the workshop .
Fuel economy wasnt the greatest driving to Queensland , but with enough clothes / supplies and spare parts to last a week it doesnt suprise me . It avergaged 10l/100km over 2300km . The car does run hotter so it doesnt take long to heat it up .

Have u done any suspension work?
Apart from some new bushes and soon new rear bump stops suspension will remain stock . This is a daily driver with a baby on board and will be a long distance driver so suspension will remain stock .

That equates to an easy high 14 on the 1/4 . Faster than Williams Ibiza VR6 . Im happy to run it against anyone thats up for a race , otherwise I'll wait until drag combat next year to get a 1/4 mile time .
For someone who swears by timeslips its funny that you didn`t run it down the quarter, so that we have to theorise its quarter mile time, or deduce it from the eighth time.
Probably because its not a very fast car that has has had that much spent on the engine.
If I had spent that budget on a VR6, I would have bolted on a supercharger and that would be that. Fast as....

the next drag combat that takes place i definatly be racing at
the reason it doesnt have a supercharger bolted on is becoz this is my daily driver and its really not nessesary for me not to mention the fact that i cant legally drive a supercharged car since i am still on my P plates, yes lame i know but some people follow the law
and yes i do enjoy it being an auto, i requested an auto car and seb built it to my specification so it would be great if you didnt shoot down his efforts, he did the best with what he had
now lets see some of your work?
then again id rather not get bannedEuro Revolution - eurorevolution@live.com.au

high 14s seem like a pretty alright time for an auto.
any estimations of what kinda power it's putting down?
to be fair, golf loon has quite a few build threads of his own in their respective sections.
guys quit the stupid antagonism and lets see a vid!!
i'm sure extractors and a 2.5 inch exhaust on any vr6 make is sound horn.87' MK2 GTI

Williams Ibiza runs stand alone . This car runs a chip , I really wish lemmiwinks or equivalent would work on the early ecu's so I can do some fuel trims . Instead I cant and have to use an adjustable fpr to compensate . Stand alone in this case is better cause there are no decent tunes available for modified N/A VR6's !
Id run it down the 1/4 , but its not my car . Its a daily driver that drives Courtney to work and does the grocery shopping . Its complete with all the dings from shopping trips . It even has rust starting to come through the door ! As much as I want to take it to the drags its just not practical , by the time Courtney can get to WSID from work after picking the baby up would be 7pm at the earliest , then scruteneering etc . Just not worth it , I know its fast , would have been good to compare to other cars at Warwick but no one really turned up so not my fault . Its booked in for drag combat so if your really really want to see it , it will be there . Oh and its probably gonna race at Portland as well .
I think you fail to realise that this engine had a spun bearing on the mains . Bolting on a supercharger would make it look like it would go faster but with a motor that wouldnt even start youd be going no-where , just faster .
Its fairly easy to drive . It does get annoying when it changes gears too early . Id doesnt start picking up till 4000rpm . Shifting is best done around 6700rpm .

There is a lot more drive train loss due to the auto , you feel it as it picks up . The advantage is shifting is fairly smooth and you dont have to worry about getting a perfect shift
Dynoed 115.4kw atws last dyno day .
Ive seen the quite a few build threads , but none have made it to any track days / drag days / dyno days . Its all well and good doing a build thread , saying how fast the car is , but , with no basis as a comparison how fast is the car in reality ?
A vid ? You can see this car in person at drag combat . Im expecting to see your car out there as well <wink>
Car sounds good , especially at WOT !Bug_racer supports the rebellion of the euro revolution
