There was a mk1 golf with I think the same engine, naturally aspirated it put out 220hp or something ridiculous, of course with a sheitload of mods, but still lol...
As much as love big turbos and slick superchargers theres just something that stirs me about an NA tuned car that nothing else does Its the attitude about it and the owner who put it in...
It's already got it's weapon of choice (for the moment) a K-Jet Audi 3A motor. 2 Litres of Audi goodness It's got torque in buckets, and shocked the hell out of Dom (Antdragonist) when he couldn't even come close to keeping up in his worked 1.8L 3dr Mk1... Muahahaaaaa
I intend to do the Volvo intake mod, and give it some cam love... The engine is reasonably young, and unique in a Mk2, so I'm gonna have a play with it before I think of putting something more potent in it. Hopefully by the time I get around to it I can put in a Mk5 TFSIor 2.0TDI at a decent price...
Pickup tomorrow arvo if all goes well... I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight...
Cheers!!! JHN
LoL....lets not forget Dom's car was running a std 1.6 carby and a std exhaust when he couldnt keep up!!!!!..... He is some sort of Racing God of sorts in Launceston now...
not that anyone condones road racing. lol... Lots of work done to Doms beast now...and a new motor going in next week..wooooooooooooooo.
LoL....lets not forget Dom's car was running a std 1.6 carby and a std exhaust when he couldnt keep up!!!!!
Still, 1.8 engine... Hey I gotta rest on my laurels, it is an 8V mk2 after all
Anyway, who's side are you on? Us Mk2 3dr owners gotta stick together LOL... Good to see Dom's car coming along. He's missed here on the Gold Coast, but his car is going ahead in leaps and bounds down there on the apple isle...
Good work mate. Finally, its been a long wait.
Now get those terrible Mags off and put something more appropriate on.
