The Mk2 was painted yesterday, Platinum Grey Metallic (from late-model Jetta and Audi TT)

I'll let the pictures do the talking...

It's getting sliced back, buffed up, and fitted up, and should be ready for pickup on Friday... WOOT!!!

Oh Matt, ur funny small bumpered she was born, and small bumpered she will remain!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!!! Good spotting... The spoiler is now colour-coded, as is the hatch trim. Rear wiper and washer have been given the Gillette treatment, as well as the side indicator holes and the aerial hole. All the "stone-proof" textured surfaces have been smoothed, and all the holes for the arches and rubbing strips have mysteriously disappeared...

Almost the whole car was dismantled and stripped back to bare metal, then I counted 5 coats of primer, all hard-blocked back to get the panels razor straight. It's been a HUGE job, and taken almost 6 months, but it's coming along great...

                Cheers!!!

It's already got it's weapon of choice (for the moment) a K-Jet Audi 3A motor. 2 Litres of Audi goodness It's got torque in buckets, and shocked the hell out of Dom (Antdragonist) when he couldn't even come close to keeping up in his worked 1.8L 3dr Mk1... Muahahaaaaa

I intend to do the Volvo intake mod, and give it some cam love... The engine is reasonably young, and unique in a Mk2, so I'm gonna have a play with it before I think of putting something more potent in it. Hopefully by the time I get around to it I can put in a Mk5 TFSI or 2.0TDI at a decent price...

Pickup tomorrow arvo if all goes well... I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight...

                              Cheers!!!
