    What condition is your radiator?
Well radiator was on a car that over heated because of a failed water pump. Did have a lot of gunk in the system but I hosed the whole system out to clear it and it seemed fine.

    • Just a thought- as this car has overheated before, it may have had stop leak put in the system by the previous owner, it could be causing some blockage in the flow somewhere.
Do you have a spare radiator handy? Might be worth doing a trial fit and see if same results.

Well as fast as the hose was putting water in the water was coming out, so don't think rad Is blocked. It's got my old engine and water pump and that was fine before I took it out. Thinking it's airlock

        • Sounds like you are loosing water through the expansion tank which is normal. If the tank is full when cold it's going to loose water as it heats up because the hotter the water gets the more it expands. When it cools down it contracts and you think something is wrong because you're missing some water.

If you don't keep filling it up each day it should still have some water in it after a few days. If it's overheating you should also be losing power when it's hot.

Well I'll put it all back together today and see what happens. I do usually overfill it to make sure it's got enough water, but I still don't think that's the problem as it does seen to be boiling. I'll give it a thorough look. I have put the lid on when the water is at the full line and same thing happens, but I will re try everything now and try figure it out. Very confusing but I will slowly figure out what's wrong

            • I agree with Paul. Let it over flow and leave it for a few days. and see if the car holds a level. (make sure you test the same time, ie in the morning before you start it up).
Also, you should have a fluid level indicator, that will go off if you're using coolant.

Water level drops. No visible leaks anywhere. If there was a leak with the pressure of the boiling water I think I'd see a it.

                • Does the water level keep dropping if you leave it or does it drop and then stay at that level?

If you park the car on concrete is there a water stain to show where it's leaking?

How much water are you losing each day?

When you see it boiling is it bubling or steaming?

Do you have next Saturdays Lotto numbers?

                  Cheers

Haven't seen any water underneath it. In a couple of hours when the car is off the bottle goes from the top to middle. It's bubbling. Yes I do, but I think I'll keep them a secret so I'm the only person that wins.

                      Sorry couldn't help it.
Seriously though if there is bubbling but no steam, it sounds like it's leaking air into the system somewhere.
                      No visible leaks though?

                      • Have you run with the heater open?

I once had a corolla like this & it was a really small pin hole in the casing of the water pump. Couldn't see anything until it was up to temp, then the hole opened up.

Took my mechanic & myself nearly 6 months to find. Actually looked around everywhere with a UV light with the hope that the coolant would glow.

                          • Wanting to go gt28 now. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do it? Buy a kit or get a manifold and adapters made up so it works with my current exhaust and I/c piping? Also any advice on fuel pump and best way to do it?

Nope. No idea, haven't been bothered to do anything to the white car.
