    Update: 5/12/2020

Mk4 rear alloy calipers arrived along with the conversion lines (momentum motorsports from memory?), gave em a nice lick of red paint and they fit good.

Mounted the ABS unit thingy, had to drill holes and add spacers here and there. Everything got a splash of black and lookin fresh!

                  Update: 1/1/2021

Pedal box finally good to go. Had to lengthen the pedals, they needed to be about 70mm lower to have the same height that the mk2 pedals have. The clutch pedal was simply adding in a piece of steel, the brake pedal had a square bracing sort of setup so I had to add a few brackets here and there to maintain its strength. I have stuck with the mk2 accelerator cable as fitting the VR6 one just wasn't going to work (mk2 cable comes out the plenum, the VR6 comes out of passenger side of firewall, too much work to make the VR6 pedal fit). Had to fit a new mount for the accelerator pedal to fit to the cruise control vacuum line. Overall happy with it, hopefully it doesn't foul with anything. Will attempt to fit the mk3 steering column tomorrow. Didn't get many pics, will upload more soon.

                  Happy new year everyone,
                  Thomas

                    Update: 3/1/2021

Got pedal box in, pedals work a charm!

Cut the side mounts off the knee bar then put it in by mounting it to where it usually goes on the pedal box... wayyyy too high, like I mean the steering wheel is through the windscreen haha. I attempted welding it in about 100mm lower but I know that doing an approximate lowering will just end up biting me on the bum when none of the venting lines up and so on. So I've left the welding and made some temporary brackets (emphasis on temporary!) which means I can raise/lower and move it forwards/backwards. I'll fit my heater box and a few other things then test fit the dash so I can be sure the knee bar is perfect.

Spotted a red Mk1 GTD today in Hobart, awesome car, looked immaculate!

Interesting... I'll have to check if mine has a knee bar.

Thanks, guessing you have a mk3 dash in yours? Not much mounts to it other than the steering column. Haven't actually thought about not using it... just thought it would be best to use strength wise!

Yea, my mk2 interior is all a bit dodgy and i like the idea of having all the buttons for cruise control and AC etc looking OEM. Thats why I hope to maintain the mk3 look inside.

Mk2 dashes didn't have a knee bar, mk3's do. I trust that the germans put it in for a reason haha. Got too much OCD to not put it in unless someone can talk me out of it [emoji14]

                              Update: 12/01/2021

Dash temporarily in. Looks a good height and lines up with the knee bar well. Did a fair bit of chopping today, had to trim the dash back a fair bit on the sides and at the back. Simply separated the dash material from the hard plastic mould and just attacked the dash where necessary. Didn't cut any of the dash material, just the plastic. Some of the pipework will need to be fibreglassed as I had to cut it back a little, especially the windscreen pipes! A dremel or die grinder is an awesome tool for this job. Was it a fun job? No. Is it totally worth it? Yup [emoji14] I reckon the dash was in and out 30 times.

Tomorrow I'll patch where I've chopped and add a strengthening piece in the bulkhead. Then can begin wiring, body deadener sheets, interior, so much to do! But its turning more and more into a car, so must be something right!

What's happening with the mk2 dash? Was it cracked?
