So her she is ready for install
Serpentine belt conversion (thanks dado for the required bits). Running a slightly larger alternator pulley from a mk4 to help keep them revs up[emoji12]
Nice spot for the dip stick. Not to mention the twin dellorto 40 dhla feeding this babe!
Homemade throttle linkage (waiting for cable to be installed)
One tight fitting distributor with literally zero clearance! (Thanks Peter)
And my solution as to where to mount the coil (thanks Elton) [emoji6]
Just waiting on flange seals before I bolt her to the mk2 gti box and then there is only plumbing and wiring to tackle! Here comes some exciting weeks ahead
Very nice Jordan, just a little tip the coil and yes it does look awesome how it's positioned ATM but it will perform at its best when not heat soaked. Sorry dude just my 2c worth.

I thought this was the case. It's most likely only going to be a temporary position until I get the whole engine bay sorted. Never the less, my exhaust will be wrapped and the coil will get plenty of airflow being positioned on top of the valve cover, so I'll wait and see and move if need be
Oh wow, that's looks awesome. Really neat setup. How hard was it to get the whole cross flow head on?
The head was matched to the block from factory. No modification needed. AFT engines came with a crossflow head on an external water pump block, so they are piss easy to put in a mk1. No mess with mounts or exhaust manifolds or anything of the sort, just the intake is different

That smooth wheel/pulley/tensioner should not be running on the inside of the belt (ribbed side)
You can buy belts in 5mm steps so I would find the right one
The smooth pulley is the water pump and needs to spin clockwise. This is the way vw did it from the factory (who knows why) and I was a little confused myself
