But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."
I just reply, "your daughter, sir." - some dude on stanceworks
I had fixed half the broken crap but that just meant it was still halfway inoperable

I think I need to organise another MK1 meet. Would love to see how you've got the seats set up.
Awesome looking seats too.
What are you doing with the ones you got off Nick?1978 MK1 2.0 16v http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/foru...-46488-70.html

alright then, long time no talk..
just spent the weekend in melbourne picking up a 1984 bmw e30 for my little brothers project, was great fun. hume highway should be 130-140 though. Did see an awesome mk1, was wide as hell and orange. looked to be the same sort of code as georges old mk1.
sump has a crack in it thats spurting out oil, so im going to be pulling that off, running a bead along the crack and building a sump guard. dont want to weld thicker steel on because i feel like i'd burn straight through the metal.
Also wondering if theres any way to adjust pedal height? the clutch and brake pedals are about 2" higher than the accelerator. But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."

When the Hume was designed it so so an Average car with an average drive could comfortable travel at 90mph (this was in the unlimited days)
Now consider an average car was probably a EH Holden and an average driver has relatively low skills you understand why fatalities on that road are usually due to boredom
I personally like the wheels, but I bet your next go will still look good

The hume is so damn boring. When im in the mk1, 100kmh feels like 180kmh hahaha, so its not too bad. BUt its definately boring in my mk6. I could fall asleep at the wheel!
As for the sump, weld it man, dont run a bead of sealant. I have busted so many sumps haha, trust me. Its only steel too, so anyone with a decent welder should be able to fix it in 30 seconds!- Orange Golf mk1 LS, 1.8 5speed, 32/36 - sold
- Golf mk1 Swallowtail rebuild, completely stripped
- Brown U.S import 81 cabby
- 88 Honda crx b18cr
