Productive day in the garage today!! I woke up to some good news that my interior from LWS design (second one now because the first one got lost) will be here on Monday so I've started to prep the interior.

Test fitted my new dash - I dummied it up with the faceplate which came with it, but I'm still working on finishing up my design so I can get it made up.

Then stripped out all the interior which will be staying out - planning on cleaning the stuff off the floor and painting it all black and running no carpet. Any tips on what to use to get all the crud off??

Excuse the dildo shifter it's all I have to suit my gear stick as somebody chopped off the thread at one point in it's life

Then I took the front end apart to fix my bent tow point at the front, then tested it when I had to sweep the garage out as I couldn't drive the car haha

Chasing the other grill for the front if anyone knows of one?? I've heard they're pretty rare but you never know!

    Annnddd all back together

Plan to scrub out the remaining deadener and unidentifiable gunk tomorrow and if the weathers good, paint this weekend! Then wiring next week and install my fibreglass gear Also need to pay rego at some point in the near future because it ran out on Sunday!

Are you making it from carbon?

Cheers guys! I actually have a very mint mk2 dash to put into the car when my fibreglass interior rocks up - so this is just to replace the stock bezel. After talking to a mate today who is the walking bible of metalworks and whatnot - i've decided on stainless with a nice finish. should look pretty good!! I'm too much of a pussy to play with fibreglass, especially when the smallest edge is only 2.5mm (from tacho to bezel) so i'm gonna leave it to the experts and see how it turns out! hopefully will look as i've planned it out on paper

Then.... rewiring but at least after that's done i'll be able to thrash the living daylights out of that poor 1.6 until i decide what i'm gonna do in the future haha.

Got some sad news last week - my fibreglass interior from LWSDesign that i ordered a few months ago got lost in the mail but Lewis and Andrew are absolute champs and have sorted me out with a new one on it's way already!

I've been absolutely flat out doing Uni work and work work - finally got a finish before 3am (11pm woo) last night so I was able to get up early this morning and do something with my day!

Yeah rob sounds good! I was gonna give you a bell this weekend about getting the process started when my interior arrives. It's on its way somewhere between the UK and here on snail mail because the shipping was a million times cheaper. Should be here either next week or the week after though hopefully

I know how it feels. There is never a shed big enough for parts. Don't stress though we will get the loom sorted and start piecin the interior together. Have the carbon bits arrived yet?

don't know what overpriced juice, an average phone service and a chocolate bar have to do with anything alot more than just that though!

got the rear strut brace in today finally! bought the deep head sockets on the weekend and whacked it in while cleaning my garage.

i wish i had a shed or something so i could start collecting more parts instead of selling them - so many ideas running through my head!!

Pic from the weekend - couldn't hang around at the meet long due to weather constraints and I was about 100k from home haha.

The golf is going to get pulled off the road (again) while I install the new interior and sort out the electrical gremlins once and for all!

To be honest I've been dealing with problems as they happen due to multiple jobs and study - but i've got a month off uni coming up and i'm only working nights nowadays so i'll have plenty of time to get the loom out on the bench and have a proper look at everything. Hopefully she will be all sorted with the inside looking schmick soon and running reliably for little cost other than my time!

I've scene this car and its really coming along. The rims are very sweet. This will be a strong contender at nationals and that's not just for its looks. ( I won't say anything more).
