Just a little heads up on using a corrado bearing housing, it will allow you to take that extremely long steering joint bolt out of the picture, ( huge bending load being so long ) and bring the bolt length back to manageable loading limits. Also has a larger wheel bearing ( last longer with the low offset wheel specs)

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    • Nice find wish I had of known about these a while back.
I not worried about the tie rod extension though, the primary material is 4140 chromoly and is 16mm thick, they are built for speedway builds and are IMCA approved. I have also added an external sleeve so the strength is improved more still.

They look a lot like the ones I'm using except mine are from a MK2 16v. Bigger wheel bearing and 19mm Ball joint, down swept steering arm. Need to be modified to MK1 strut bolt hole spacing.
They've also got the MK3 caliper bolt spacing which opens up the brake upgrade options.

                • Wouldn't you love to be able to press the 'FFWD' button when it comes to wiring

Can't wait to see it on wheels - how far off getting on the ground is it?

                  • I strangely enjoy wiring in a perverse manner. Nice to know everything is new and how and where I want it.
Can't wait to push that button for the first time.
Not long now, need to get a clutch and sort the peloquin. Gonna put the rear on the ground soon. Need to measure up some trailing arm tie rods.
