  • Yea rope trick is the way to go, no glue. Just gotta makes sure it's all sealed in. Ie the inside should all have the rubber over the edge, and on the outside, it should all be sitting flush.

Did it previously have silicone on the seal? One thing I'm thinking, Is if it's had repairs to the pillars in the past, depending on the quality of the work, they may not have been repaired to 100% factory shape. This is a big MAYBE though. Get ya hose out and see if you can see leaks into the cabin. (soap bubbles always make finding various air leaks easier to find.)

It should sit in there pretty snuggly though. If you seal is shagged (and I mean SHAGGED) that could cause some poor fitment too I guess.

    • The front windscreen was a pain in the but to do with only 2 people and brand new seals with chrome.
No glue or silicon is needed man.
You need one person on each side pushing the windshield towards the inside of the car with even pressure and the other person pulling the rope on the inside of the car.

**** what happened to the car bro.

Wheels look good man, no stretch sux though.

Hahah dude i have 175/60 on a 8" wide rim? Its a pretty good stretch, just cant see it in the pics.

As for the windscreen i have already put it in, and the seal seems to be slightly shagged but not completely. I checked and the windscreen moves back and forth slightly, however both sides of the seal are seated properly. Either a, the seal is ****, or b, i havnt put it in properly.

Either way i think if i cant get a perfect fit ill just chick in silicone. I just want it in.

        • Was browsing around Deer Park wreckers yesterday and came accross a pair of king springs. Went home and grabbed my set of front springs, then compared the two - same width. Bought the pair for $20

I specifically bought the springs with the intention of cutting them. The great thing is they are ment for a VN, meaning it has a heavier load to carry, and if cut and put on my little light car shouldnt be a problem. Cut the sh*t outta them, put them on, car dropped to the floor and its stiff as hell. Stiffer than coilovers may i say ! I love it, can go really low without rub !!!

Only thing is one side is a cm higher than the other, but once they sag down, ill sort that out.
Pics dont do justice of how good it looks

              • Finally got around to knocking all the dints and all the slashed through the bonnet. I knocked it all out, and body-fillered the holes. Came out came out really smooth.

Instead of paying 300 to respray the bonnet, i used a fraction of that for a big sheet of CF vinyl wrap.
Me and a mate wrapped my bonnet today and came out amazing !!

                          • Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Just a bit curious, i have really stiff suspension at the front, almost no movement. Apart from me jumping around in the car over every bump i hit, and looking like i've got hydraulics in my seats, is it bad to have stiff front suspension?

I mean the struts, or anything like that?

Id be more worried about the Strut Towers on the body cracking under the stiffness.
