So my further research and course of action are;
- replace check valve (cheap)
- tested WUR and it's outside spec 16-22 ohm at 24.2 so that may be the source of overfuelling under hard acceleration
- will test injectors for spray pattern and leaking
That will all have to go some way to sorting things!

Taken me a bit longer than I would have liked to get this far but have an update.
Since the last post it's confirmed the system is losing pressure rapidly. Accumulator or check valve at pump. The WUR is delivering 3 BAR not the 3.5 it says it needs. Bit of water looks to have gone through system at some stage also.
I've removed the complete injection system and sending it to Peter Bower from Bower Power who will overhaul what he can and replace what's needed. Peter is a true gentleman and as I showed some interest he talked me through a lot while I was with him and really broke down how kjet works. After that conversation I really understand simplicity of this system and see why if maintained is tops.

K-jet is amazingly reliable as long as its maintained, to many people bag it IMO without fully understanding it.
WUR is incorrect version for a 1600 GTI spec, maybe where the issue is, Peter should be able to recalibrate it for what your needing tho.Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??
Cheers,
Grant...

Thanks Grant. I didn't think of recalibraring it. Peter is truly a gentleman too.
Sorry to hassle you but I'd like to get a connector off you to fix the CS valve wiring, unless you can point me to a local place like jaycar that might do them.
It's going to drive like a new car for Liam!

Peter Bower is in Forestville. I courier him the parts to test as its a pain to get there and will go back for a final tune after e sends everything back and refitted it.

Sadly the issues with the Mk1, no matter how deep, pale into insignificance compared to the total disaster our house has become. Thankfully, both are now back on the right track.
