I generally tighten to abt a fingertip of slack.
If the belt was loose it would still charge a little + it would scream as it slipped right?
yea, you would think. I might. seems tight enough though. no screaming, and currently the alternator is actually charging [to 13.6-7V], so the alt is working, and the belt too. I think I may have an open circuit or some drain on the system somewhere.
p.s. Simon, don't forget to come to the pub meet, next monday night 7:30, same place as last time.

Go for a drive an see if the belt gets hot. But if it was slipping to the point that the alternator wasn't charging, you'd know about it i reckon.
rear drum brake cylinders, ground back the calipers with a grinder!
Painted gti flares and front chrome bumper spats, plugs for the holes drilled in the front chrome bar!!!
replaced the zip ties holding on the number plates with bolts and stuck on the rego sticker. oh and the number plate i was given ends in LSQ, being an LS in QLD i will take this as good luck!
driving around sure beats cycling and the sound of an itb'd 16v is all types of awesome.

How's the cabby going? I'm planning on a bit of a service / upgrade as well, where did you source the plugs from? sounds like a good deal
going really well, especially after the service, I sourced the plusg and all parts from the UK,my rellos sent them. the plugs were real cheap compared to the UK also I find those Iridium seem to work much better when the engine is hot.
