      Thanks kookie.

I know I'm about 5 years late on the Scirocco scene but I'm really enjoying this car.

Not sure how many more things I'll find to update but I'll probably just end up taking shots of the car from different angles and posting

      • Just had confirmed that the chrome mirror switch has arrived. Was shipped to a closer car dealership in the same dealer network for collection and now they can't find it....

        • Picked up the elusive switch this morning.

It actually isn’t that different from the standard one - except I’ll know it every time I look at it.

          • And final piece of the puzzle to eliminate those annoying door rattles:

            • Busy day today. Had the lower control arms fitted:

              Before:

              After:

              Initial impressions are good.

The car definitely feels more planted at the front and steering is more firm and less "floaty". I can still chirp the front wheels but I reckon I can give it a bit more before it breaks traction. Still limited by tyres but I really like how its firmed up the steering.

Still need to get a wheel alignment and then will go for a drive through the hills.

              • I also pulled the doors apart again and taped up the door warning light wires with the cloth tape. Then zip tied to keep it from rattling inside the door.

Plus installed the chrome trimmed mirror control switch. Took a lot less time second time around to remove the door trims.

                  • Love the fine finished touch the small bits of chrome bring to the inside of the car.
Have you experienced any increase in nvh with the control arm installation?

Yes sometimes it's the little things that make you smile on the inside every time you see them.

Re the lower control arms and ALK there's no impact on NVH after installation. The steering is firmer and has better feedback/road feel.

Do it you won't be disappointed. And they are actually quite affordable now too. Still a couple of brand new cars sitting in dealer showrooms or pick up a pre-facelift for low $20's.
