Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Looking good Glen, hit us up with some pics of the finished paint job ( clearcoated ).

whatever you do, dont lose the clips that hold the trim around the rear quarter windows, there totally unobtainable from anywhere...
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

      Thanks Jarred and Grant.
The clear is done now , but want to get some parts on to get better idea
      of " the look ".
My Brother [ previous owner ] has some neat spoiler / skirt accent
ideas which I will be painting today.
Sort of break up the colour of the car but with accents to draw attention to
these parts. Looking forward to how it looks.
Have lots of wheel polishing and tyre blacking to do.

it was so close to being Turquoise.........
The colour is Moonstone Blue - Toyota.
          Very Metallic.
In sunlight its " Silver ".

I got bogged down on the bumpers today, I thought they were in excellent order.
When unpacked - they were shocking. So too much time spent there.
Spoke to Mathew at Camden GTI, getting brake upgrade tomorrow - hopefully.

Its got one of those Sirocco Signs on it like everyone has
            .
I could not find the screws or plugs that hold the Foam Rubber rear spoiler
            on.
If any one knows what normally is used for this could they please tell me.????

finally got all bumpers / flairs / skirts / air dam in undercoat - late
in the day. Bit depressed with amount done today. Doesnt look like will get it
              registered this week now

Brakes will need fair bit of work. Fitting bigger drums and may have to
              rebuild Master cylinder.
Discovered two tyres are stuffed [ other two change soon ].
Exhaust has badly fitted muffler [ knocks against spare wheel ].
              3 bulbs blown.
              etc , etc.

                  Picked up Better drums today.
Finished painting all Flairs / spoilers / etc
                  Fixed bumpers and fitted.
                  Door locks.
                  mirrors.
                  Gutter trim.
wasted time looking for fixings [ I just know I have somewhere ].

I had to pull all the mylar trim off my B1 Passat and I haven't had a chance to figure out what to replace it with yet.

I will have to take pic of it, it is a chrome [ or stainless ] covering that clips
over the gutter. This may be a different gutter to yours.
Will need to see the pic.
