Try ringing Volkshop ( or wherever it came from in South Australia) and find out if it was ever registered None of mine have compliance plates but are registered under private imports.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thats good to know. This was a Private import by a fellow in South Australia , who then sold it to Volkshop.
My Brother had it registered in NSW before.
I drove it a few times - it is so nice to drive. I am determined to get this registered.

Matt told me that booster may be stuffed - Thanks for tip, that would add up to symptoms.
I want to get the Rocco down to his workshop, but I will be trying the " banging head against wall " of the RTA first.
- Hopefully they can get some records out.

Moved a step closer; my brother went to RTA and got the proof of registration form. They said that this would be all thats needed to
get the blue slip.
Matt reminded me that I need a document of sale from Brother to me.
I am hoping to get the car down to the Camden workshop on Friday - and then after some repairs it gets registered soon.Glenn....with Old Scirocco to replace old Beetle.sigpic

the Scirocco is now at Matts workshop.
Matt was most amazed at the brakes - he wondered how they managed to stop the car.
I would love to see my old Rocco down there with the 3 other Mk2's. That would be nice.
Matt is confident to fix some things and have it Blue slipped by Monday. I need to get hold of some better brakes for the front. So will have to keep searching.
For now , will just be happy to drive this neat old car around.Last edited by Hydro; 13-07-2013, 05:41 PM.Glenn....with Old Scirocco to replace old Beetle.sigpic

Got the " much needed " Ventilated Disks [ with bigger calipers ] up front now. Thanks Mat.
I am enjoying driving it. I took a trip up the Blue Mountains Sunday Arvo. Love those Woodford bends.
Shame the speed limit is so low. Think about 180 km/h would suit this car better.Glenn....with Old Scirocco to replace old Beetle.sigpic
