    • That is also what I thought Adam - just want to double check with the folks with the springs installed on their Rocs to make sure before ordering. Cheers!

      • Are you ordering locally or from offshore? I am looking at these 35mm H&R springs too. They seem very popular on the UK/Europe Scirocco forum.

        • Probably offshore mate. Yeah, I think those are probably one of the most popular ones out there and it doesn't make the Roc too low either - you should see some pics posted by other members.

            • Thanks mate, I was looking at Awesomegti, I will see which one they have the better deal.

Do you mind of sharing how much you paid for the springs from Orange inc. shipping cost?

              Thanks.

              • Orange tuning gave a pretty good deal imo. I am now have a hard decision to make whether to go for 28/24 or 26/22 adjustable sway bars. Probably they don't make a huge difference. Would be nice to hear some user experiences from your fellows. Thanks!

                • Yea i remember paying circa $300 shipped. Another $300 to get em fitted locally too. As cruddy as it sounds, the 35mm springs are quite forgiving. Greggo introduced them to me

                  • Thanks Dizzydumb for the info - sorry I forgot to mention about the springs in my last post, I ordered both springs and sway bars from Orange Tuning. I have pretty much settled the springs with similar price tag, but not yet on the sway bars, shilly-shally on 28/24 or 26/22......Cheers mate.

No worries mate. As long as u got the 35mm ones. The 20mm ones are not low enough imo.

                        • this is not really a mod question but has anyone here used launch control on their rocco R?

I'm not expecting anything spectacular since it's FWD but a few rpms off the line would certainly be beneficial.

                          is the procedure:

touch ESP button briefly to turn off TRC
then hold down ESP button for 5 sec or so to turn off ESP
                          select the DSG S mode
                          left foot on brake
right foot push throttle to the floor
revs should rise at this point to whatever the LC set point is (i'm guessing fairly low on the FWD roccos, maybe 3,000rpm?)
release brake when you want to go

if anyone knows the correct procedure to engage it I'd love to have it confirmed. I'll give it a try shortly anyway.

also should note, other cars I've owned with LC won't allow it unless the gearbox oil temp is within a set range (ie not too cold or too hot) so don't try LC straight out of your garage. get the engine and box up to operating temp before trying it. it's just common sense anyway but thought it worth mentioning as people get excited and forget.

I'll also say launch control in my R35 GTR was like entering a secret code! lol. you had to work the button in order (3 of them for traction mode, gearbox mode and suspension mode), then select first gear with the paddle, then foot on brake, then floor the accelerator. it gave a nice launch at just under 5,000rpm and 0-100 in just under 3 second! pulling about 1.2G on launch too... nice.

                          • Yep that's pretty much it, you don't need to do the ESP thing twice as you described, just hold it once for about 5 seconds or until you hear a beep, you're MAF will show you the 2 modes of TC being disabled.

Then doing everything you described (can also push it in to manual instead of sport mode if you like). I've done it once and would describe it as 'messy, but quick' hahaha.

It'll be a hell of a lot different to the GTR and obviously don't stomp the accelerator it in 1st gear, but it's good fun amongst all the noise. Would be interested to see what the 0-100 is with stage 1... then 2, then 3..

As you mentioned, you'll need a warm engine for it all to work i'm pretty sure

                            • thanks blackroc.

yeah the TSC/ESP was one thing I was unclear on whether you had to disable TSC THEN ESP or if just disabling ESP got rid of both of them.

yeah it's never going to do a 2.9sec 0-100 but that's not really the point of this car (it's a hell of a lot cheaper than $150K too...). they are still quick and great fun to drive.

I'd be pretty happy if it ultimately does consistent 0-100 somewhere between 4.5 and 4.9 seconds. that is still a quick road car.

I have the 6MT, and well all i'll say is 5500 KM's on the car, tyre should still be in good condition.

Since I had stage 1 installed........... 1st gear launch with ESP turned off is just pointless... as soon as I hit boost, I just wheelspin and axle hop...... its pretty hallarious... so powerfull.. I think i need to rotate the tyres already... haha..i usually just doa quick launch in 1st to like 4k rpm then bang it in to second seems to get moving faster that way

I do have my tyres at 42 PSI to save tread so also could be contributing to traction.

Still amazing at stage 1 difference though
