Would you mind sharing where you got the VF intake? I like the large piping diameter and the enclosure. Is it the generic kit for K04s? Thanks.

        • Installed H&R 35mm today. I must say the ride was very very compliant and comfy that i even double checked if i was on 'comfort' on ACC or not. Somehow the spring rate is much better than stock. Happy!

            • Hey Guys, A little bit of assistance needed

I got a quote today after looking into doing some mods to my ROC,

I'm looking at getting these upgrades,

              - Stage 1 APR Tune
              - VWR Intake
              - VWR Springs

I have been quoted $2900 for all to fitted to my car, (Labour Included) and it seems a bit steap but I'm just curious what some of you paid, dont mean to be upfront.

Apparently there is APR special until end of year... 10% discount so here is what they have quoted roughly

              Intake - $900
              Springs - $600
              Tune - 1100
              Labour - 350 or so

Does this seem reasonable ? or should I shop around some more, $900 for an intake seems outrageous and I can see Its only $400 in USA but they dont ship here (APR Website)

Any light that can be shed would be much appreciated

              • APR pricing is listed on website and those prices dont seem too far off the mark after discounting. Intake is like $877 or something after the 10% - I know because its my next purchase.

                • Could always go the Volant CAI which I got here for just over half of what the VWR intake costs - VW-AUDI 2.0 FSI Intake

More info and feedback on it here - DIY Tarmac Volant CAI install for Golf R/Scirocco R, Gti & Jetta and DIY Tarmac Volant CAI install for Golf R/Scirocco R, Gti & Jetta

I installed mine myself and it goes well, sounds good, butt dyno feels more torque and I put down 207awkw at the recent WA dyno day with this CAI and APR stg1.. possibly a generous dyno though??

H&R springs can be had for about 170 Euro (not incl. shipping) from Orange Tuning (google for url) in Germany, you'll need to email Frank to get a quote for shipping to your location though, then i had them installed for a couple hundred.

Just those springs and intake will save you 1k! I took advantage of the APR Winter sale with the same discount..

                  food for thought anyway.

                  • what sort of 0-100 time we expecting with stage 1?

                    Comment

                    • well the fitting price seems reasonable. $350 to fit springs and intake seems pretty fair.

tune for $1100 seems about right (i'm assuming this is a pre made chip right, not a custom dyno tune?)

springs seem a bit pricey though.

intake @ $900 seems a bit pricey too but as best i can tell that's what they cost. APR use a dealer network so it's hard to buy their products direct from OS as each dealer is supposed to only trade to customers in their own country (only option would be get a mate in the US to buy and send it to you).

                      • also have you considered the veizu products?

they have a package at the moment which is $2999 and includes tune, carbon CAI (which looks very nice) and a full turbo back exhaust. or for just $2K you can get the tune, carbon intake and a 3inch dump pipe (so no increased exhaust noise but a nice power increase) that leaves $1,000 just for springs which even at the above price are only $600 so that option would be $2600 for tune, carbon CAI and springs... I have no feedback on the comparison between veizu vs APR but it seems like good value.

this is what their intake looks like (need to confirm though that they do intake and tune for scirocco but I think they do).

Thats a rather hard question to answer, I have no idea. All i know is APR stage 1 take you from stock 188kw to 227kw, that is a massive JUMP almost 40KW gain. (at the flywheel ofcourse)

which is nearly 1/4 of cars stock power, along with VWR intake which will help the car to breathe.

                            • I don't think so. but best to check with them. either way there is not a lot of labour to install a intake kit.

APR's quite generous with their numbers... I have yet to dyno my car yet but I'm pretty sure it's not the 60+bhp they're advertising

As far as 0-100 times go... I've consistently been getting circa 5.5s with launch control, ~6.0s without. I'm running APR stage 1 with stock RE05 tyres. At the end of the day, it's still a FWD car and launches won't be great. 80-160 sprint... that's a whole different thing altogether...
