  • The rear seat is still in progress at home, but I managed to start putting the dash and interior back in the car.

Had to modify a couple of the covers for my new pedal setup, but not very much.

Passenger side is done, drivers tomorrow.

Pic from today, with the Corrado seats

    • So had a night of Madness at the shop this week and made the beast run!!

The back seats are not quite finished, but have been trial fitted.

I need to take it to an exhaust shop to have the exhaust stainless welded and have some tidying of the engine bay to do.

But it runs and sounds sweet.

Need to run the motor in and bleed the brakes, then it will be tearing up the streets of Sydders

              • He he loads of fun today.

I got a blueslip and Got it registered. Oooh Yeah.

I wrote out my statement of intent to take an unregistered vehicle to a blueslip station and as it had no plates, put on these UK ones I had lying around

They are appropriate for the year. The car is an 86. Got a few funny looks, but it was all good.

I cant even rev the motor yet it still only has 14kms on it. I had to not rev it past 3k, as the motor is brand new and has butterbearings in it. Sounded sweet and it just wanted to go, I was very restrained.

Plenty of room for tidying in that engine bay and it will happen. Its a messy engine though, nearly as bad as a kjet Rocco.

Back seats are almost finished, need tightening onto the frames and a couple of stiches here and there. Trial fitted em.

Had a triumphant mission, the blue slip place obviously had never seen a Rocco before and were happy to change the engine number and capacity for me. Obviously, cos they are all Turbo aren`t they?

The RTA were even easier as I persuaded them to create a listing for Scirocco on their system last year. The greenslip place accessed the RTA system and were able to give me a better price as it wasnt "VW Unknown" or "Import" on their system.

I celebrated with fancy euro plates.

I gonna rack up a few ks and run the motor in, finish off some bits and bobs and then enjoy

                • Wow... What else can I say but wow. I was going to ask for a run down of the thread as I couldn't be bothered reading it but I'm glad I did now. What a fantastic build up and a fantastic result.
                  Well done mate.

                  • Cool stuff Loon. RTA's VW's knowledge is legengary!! haha

Don't go too easy on the run-in process though. You'll do more damage than taking it easy.

                    Give it hell!

                              • Yeah its getting an engine cover.

I`m gonna plumb the pod filter behind the guard, to keep it looking stockish.

Yeah its a shock to me to have a finished project.

I`m actually getting rid of all my projects one way or another. I just wanna end up with a nice rocco that I take on cruises or drive on the weekend.

Also with this now being registered, every car I own is a Turbo
