Oh that's right! Yeah, you had the exact same issue with yours, I remember now. So we're doing the same thing, just I didn't want to pull it off the old amp, I managed to actually get the part from Tyco, which they weren't willing to supply to me personally but when a big manufacturing company asked for me they drop everything to express a sample at no cost.

Sadly it looks like I've lost the info on which pin does what now, will need to track that down again.

Hah! That's the stuff. I had started translating the info from that German forum just now for the MY10 plug, plus English info for the MY08 plugs. Saved it this time, I'm guessing you probably e-mailed me that last time, the pics look familiar. Cheers.

I´ve been looking to retrofit mib2 to a MY2014 jetta.


I can buy cheap units in my country but my problem is component protection removing.


I´ll appreciate if somebody can help me with CP removing and voice function activation. I´m not interested in NAV, I prefer to use waze or google maps through carplay.

Hi @agustinfx. I'm afraid you can only use Apple Maps in CarPlay - no others.

It has Carplay functionality.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone you can carplay Waze maps, otherwise you have to use Apple Maps

I also ordered quadlock adapter (whith mic and RVC) and usb socket in order to mirror my android phone screen.
My gateway is: 7N0 907 530 AM i hope this not going to be a problem.


The big problem is CP removal and voice activation. I´ll really appreciate any helping hand on this.

The only way to remove CP is with ODIS online.
And then you need to activate features which needs data from a vehicle which was factory fitted with discover media.
Then the unit needs a hardware patch installed so that CP is not set again after 8 hours.

Well the fec scheme has been out now for 6 years and they haven't yet. Not to say it won't happen but thus far whatever vag implemented has been pretty resistant it seems.
There are some modules like radar modules which have been found to have an exploitable bootloader but given that the mib units effectively run Linux (qnx) I think it's impressive that it hasn't been exploited without a hardware hack to be honest.

The Unit I bought was removed from factory fitted car and never connected yet to another car. If I understood kmold I don´t need to remove CP? maybe if I can make hardware patch before testing my unit I can avoid unlocking CP w/ ODIS?

I asked in VW but it seemed that I was talking about Martians. It is evident that they do not understand anything. So my only chance is that the contact of kmold can help me.

Map update is just downloaded from vw just like for factory fitted systems.
You need a vw maps sdcard originally
