I had much the same prob, put a meter in the system and was getting a highish current draw but found that it dropped right off when the car was locked ,so now have it locked in the garage and so far its good to go. Cheers

Thanks Moda - that worked. It is a bit fiddly as you say, but eventually I found it.

TOok a look at my hidden menu and all my settings match yours. I've contacted audiosources to see if they can provide some assistance. It wouldn't be a DTV or DVR record setting would it?

And for the aux-in - mine is in the glove box (2008 model) - I assume the input on the DNS810 should be "Aux In"? Yeah, doesn't seem to work - perhaps its the 2008 model year that doesn't work with this.. not a big deal though..

        • Heard back from Audiosources on my rear camera issue. They say there is an updated SW release they will share with me soon that may resolve this.

          • So I got my rear camera working (it was the wiring hookup) - and i've got the wiring going to the rear of the car, however, now I'm having problems getting the camera attached to the rear of the car. Its this style of camera - http://tinyurl.com/nfgfq5m not one that replaces the license plate late. The nut itself can't come off -

Any advice on getting this on a VW rabbit/golf?

            • I've never used it but there is a composite (RCA) video output you could use for rear screens.

Drill a small hole between your release button and one of the licence plate lights, you may require a small mounting block to angle it correctly, remember to seal it with decent auto silicone.

Not without knowing what build numbers/date/unit it's for...

The whole thing has been confused by the fact that there are now 2 types of DNS unit (old/new canbus decoder), and thus 2 software forks. Need to know what the build numbers are or have a link directly from Audiosources before i'm game to install it on my unit.

Pretty sure that was the problem with old mate a month or so ago who bricked his unit from a firmware flash, probably tried to install the other software fork.

I'm really not sure what you're trying to do, to be honest, I think we're hitting a language barrier.

Chances are you probably have the new canbus decoder.

Without knowing what build numbers the firmware is, or having it come directly from Fiona, i'm not going to install it on my unit until someone else does *shrugs*

Well that's a very strange collection of firmwares, pretty old. Looks like you would have the old CANBUS module too (same software version as me), maybe, not sure.

Either way, try that firmware version you got sent from Fiona.

Or you can try this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...8Aug14.V24.zip

This is the version I am running.

Edit: Make sure you follow the correct flash procedure, otherwise you will brick your unit.
