Maybe the details are set to minimum. Can't remember of the top of my head what they actually do, but maybe it's set to minimum details, hence no street names. Is the street name displayed in the MFD when driving along?

yes it does . if your driving on the pacific highway it will say so in the MFD.
Mine is also 694.112 kb

Cant set those details only the number of POI you can put in HAve just spent half an hour fiddling and cant find any way to turn on or off what is shown on the base map.

The ISO I put up definitely works as mine is going fine. Only other thing I can think of is put everything back to factory settings and start again Or maybe be as a last resort Format the drive but thats a bit radical and worrisome.

Exactly the same as mine and 4120. Mine is on post 181 Prev post was a typo Sorry

Did you try it with the DVD inserted? See my earlier post. Doesn't seem to matter how long I leave the DVD in for, not long after I take it out, the names and 'textures' disappear again.

I had exactly the same problem. It took me 3 CD's and 2 DVD's to finally get it to work properly. Ended up working on a DVD that I burnt on the slowest speed the DVD would allow.

Ok so the link to the ISO that FJ Steve provided is the exact same size 677 MB (710,770,688 bytes) but it has a different hash 6E344E4E1EC7923A34D54E90CB330B7C

My guess is this one will work. I will burn tomorrow and test and get back to you. Thanks for the help.

I had exactly the same problem. It took me 3 CD's and 2 DVD's to finally get it to work properly. Ended up working on a DVD that I burnt on the slowest speed the DVD would allow.

I'll wait and see how Ferni goes with his download also, and go from there.

I just updated my V6 maps to the link that FJ Steve provided. Woo Hoo. Version 6 maps with top information and street names. My previous Version 6 didn't work despite multiple media.

FJ Steves V6 iso fixed my issues...

So looks like there are 2 different V6 ISO's floating around, identical size, one is bad and gives the symptoms I explained (missing road names, missing textures when zoomed in etc..) one is good and looks identical to v5 (But i guess more up to date roads etc..)

The way to tell if you have good or bad is to check the hash of the ISO file you downloaded.. If you don't know how to calculate the MD5 sum of your iso, download HashTab for windows and then right click the file, properties and check the Hash tab, it will calculate the MD5...

Ok mine seems its the bad one Have downloaded Jorges version which has the correct hashtab Have put the V5 disc in and gone back to that but sitting in the garage doesnt seem much different . So reinstalled the "GOOD" V6 version and its the same as mine was.

Will go for a drive in the morning and run V5 off the disc and do the same route with V6 on the HDD and see what happens.
