My V6 Map install is missing street names as well. I've reburnt it twice, i downloaded a new copy, the MD5 hash is the same between the 2 I downloaded so can't figure out whats going on?
I rolled back to V5 and i get (limited) street names in 3D... install V6 and no street names...
???
I'm having a similar issue with missing street names and lacking topography (i.e lack of colour). Strangely though when I insert the Nav DVD, the details come back. Looks like all info hasn't been loaded on to the hard drive, so is using the DVD to get the street etc, information.
Not sure how to fix this. Can anyone help out with this?

Burn it as slow as possible on a -R DVD using IMGBURN and it will be as good as it gets
I have burned 3 disks and all are the same.
I have cream ground and it shows blue for water also green for the grass areas.
In 3D zoomed in it doesnt show all the street names but if you put it in 2D and zoom out a bit it will.
If you put it on auto zoom it should show the street names OK.
In 3D it will show the adjacent streets as you pass them (25m late unfortunately) but wont show many other street names.

I've burned the DVD that way, and the drive IS reading from it ok, but just not loading the info onto the hard drive. Maps work perfectly with the DVD in the drive, but when you take it out, all street names and topography disappear after a few minutes.
So, the question is, how do I do a reinstall of the maps and choose to load onto the hard drive. I'm not getting that option now when I insert the DVD.
I think people have mentioned that in 3D mode you DONT get all the streets names. this has been the case for me since V4 maps when I first got my car.
Put it into 2D mode and you get them all at a certain zoom and closer.
for the guy who doesn't have all information, leave the DVD in there for about 20 mins, it probably hasn't copied all the data over to the hard drive yet.
Put it in 2D and they are there. When you drive along with it in 3D the adjacent ones are there but not as many as V5 However the speed indicator is better and the roads are more up to date.
If you zoom it out to 400m in 3D they will show up better Put it on Auto Zoom and it will then zoom in when you get near a turn on your trip The correct info also shows up in the MFD with the distance to turns with the street name
Nope not there in 2D either. Also missing the textures on V6.... put V5 back on and plenty of road names in 2D and enough in 3D... something still not right..

Did you try it with the DVD inserted? See my earlier post. Doesn't seem to matter how long I leave the DVD in for, not long after I take it out, the names and 'textures' disappear again.
That looks like its in night mode Never had mine like that. Look in your settings and see what its set at Shouldn't look like that in day mode
Have just been for a drive and mine shows this
In 2D mode shows streets all around
In 3D mode with zoom at 50m shows adjacent streets about a block in front and to each side and they come up ahead of me.
Cut it in to 25 m and very few show up.
I put the DVD in and it didnt make any difference to what was shown.
Where did you download the image from Mine is Ok as its what I used for mine.
Something is radically wrong and it may be in the settings by the look of those pics Just been out and put mine into night mode and the streets come up same as in day mode So cant figure yours out but is definitely in night mode
Those photos are actually running from DVD (Its how I've been testing after rolling back to V5 on HDD). I figure once it works fine from DVD then i can install to HDD.
The photos are from 6am this morning when it was still dark, hence night mode... Day mode doesn't have street names either.
I'm running firmware 4120
I downloaded the maps twice from this thread (RNS510V6Maps.iso), MD5 hash of the ISO was the same on both which is 8A9F7D1F4F464CBCDCF7C9FC7337214E if you want to check your ISO MD5? (710,770,688 bytes)
Maybe the details are set to minimum. Can't remember of the top of my head what they actually do, but maybe it's set to minimum details, hence no street names. Is the street name displayed in the MFD when driving along?
