checked, I have the male voice available so I do have the latest firmware!

why do people worry about the speed zones being right? in NSW, they change as frequently as traffic lights!

I believe the speed is to estimate your travel time during processing your route.

if you want the correct speed, look at the speed signs on the side of the road

A bit hard to see some speed signs when behind trees to aid the speed cameras that are out to get you Would be nice to have them correct on the screen of a multi thousand $ unit when a $150 unit can manage to include them correctly

Just updated from V5 to V6 all went smooth however map no longer displays street names, any ideas? I'm running FW3810.

We have newly released MMI 3G maps for Touareg for 2013 together with online activation solution

They are not the maps 5.4.3 released July 2012 but completely new 2013 released a week ago. As far as we know the dealers dont have online activation code for them yet.

We can install in Maroochydore if you are this way - workshop only item.

It will cost you $250 for the maps on 32 SD Card (not supplied) plus activation in the workshop $50

Price dont include GST

Just got off the phone with VW Australia on Monday trying to have V6 maps loaded on an RNS850 (Touareg) Sat Nav to no avail. Not just a case of sticking in the disc and following promps, need an activation code of which (surprise, surprise) VW Australia have no knowledge of.
Was asked on why I need my maps updated anyway if the current ones work aright????? When questioned them on likely pricing they stated that there was no fixed/standard price, so $60 sounds good if it is actually version 6.

Would that be the 7P6 051 236 D (T1000-20273) SD Card - Volkswagen Navigation AV Multi Region Map 1 (V3) or is there a newer version?
Also anyone in Sydney able to load them or do I need an excuse to travel to the Sunshire Coast

hi mate, this is the part number 8r0-051-884 they are still in Europe being worked on so no rush but we have just ordered the online activation code facility and should be with us after Easter. We have gotten the maps direct from Germany and its a workshop only item not available through normal channels. From what we know there is no online activation code for it in Australia yet but the European maps use the same system which is being worked on as we speak

Just updated from V5 to V6 all went smooth however map no longer displays street names, any ideas? I'm running FW3810.

Same with me except running 4120 firmware. No longer getting street names in 3D or 2D.

Just sitting in the garage it shows some adjacent street names but when moving it shows the side streets as you pass them.

Nope not getting any street names what so ever. Tried burning another CD but grtting same problem. Reinstalled V6 Maps and street names reappeared. V6 map has also lost all textures with just the single background colour

Ok have just gone for a drive to see whats what.

I have V6 maps with latest firmware

On Map view in 2D the Street names are there as are different colours for parks and rivers

When I went into 2D it stayed at North up and the car icon was small and away in the distance on the bit of road shown.

Had to hit the compass icon at top R/H to get correct orientation Then the Car Icon to get it to show up better.

In Map mode in 3D some street names but not many Colours for above are still there.

In Navigation mode It started with North up again which is a pain as it never used to do that It always started as I had finished with it.

Most side streets appeared as I drove past them.

Is not as good topographically as V5 but has more correct roads.

The speed zones are still not correct in our area as coming up to one big roundabout it drops from 100 to 80 then to 60 entering the roundabout. Map stays at 100 all the way. Has 50 in some 60 areas which is probably better than 120 in 110 areas LOL

All in all my view hasnt changed as if I had a boat I would use it for an anchor LOL

Its the same with mine ,it only shows main intersections ,road names,
At least with the V5 it showed the street names as you drove past ?
