  • Hey Guys,
    I'm new here.
I've got a Golf Mk VI

    Recently purchased a RCD510 (to replace the RCD310) with a 9W7 Bluetooth Kit (7P6 035 730 J).
The kit replaced one of the previous nokia/VW kits (1K8 051 730B), which I've piggybanked the mic from.

    I've bought the following plug and play unit. VW Bluetooth Kabelsatz OEM ► 7P6035730J ► 7P6035730K ► 7P6035730L ► 7P6035730 | eBay
I have managed to install the new kit behind the climate controls in the dash (I cut the feet off to create room).
Other than the standard plugs in loom I had a couple of wires spare which I'm not sure is right or not (see picture - middle is the mic /pls ignore)

Anyway excuse the rant with details.
I have an android and iphone both which pair showing song names caller, phonebook etc on the headunit.
The issue is when I play music or make a call I can't hear the audio.
Volume is turned up on the unit and phone, plus the person I call can apparently hear me via mic.
Anyone have any ideas? Thinking it could be a small issue and don't want to pay someone for a simple fix hahha

    • My Issue with iphone 7 IOS12 and Tiguan Bluetooth.
Hi, on the weekend I updated my iphone to ios 12 and it completely disabled bluetooth.

Anyway took it to Apple and they replaced the phone and then had bluetooth working on iphone 7 with IOS 12.

But then I tried to pair it back with the car ...... Every time it appeared the car tried to pair with the phone, bluetooth on the phone turned off, the car reported the pairing password, but by this time the phone had already turned off bluetooth.
Bluetooth then turns back on on the phone, but its too late to pair by then as the code is not valid and the phone is not displaying the car as a valid device.

I have turned off bluetooth in the car and logged an Apple support call, but wondering if anyone else has seen this type of problem.

      Thanks

      Steven

      • Still trying to find out which BT module to get when upgrading to RNS 510 from RNS 315.

Looking through ETKA, I was able to make a list of which PR codes the different versions of the BT module correspond to:

        7P6035730J: PR-9ZB
        7P6035730K: PR-9W7
        7P6035730L: PR-9ZA

        7P6035730M: PR-9ZB
        7P6035730N: PR-9W7
        7P6035730P: PR-9ZA

According to other sources, the PR codes mean the following:

        PR-9ZB: "Mobile Phone Preparation"
        PR-9ZA: "Mobile Phone Preparation Plus"
        PR-9W7: "Mobile Phone Interface (NAR)"

So knowing which PR codes the module versions correspond to, can anyone tell me what the difference in functionality is?

From factory my car has a variant of "Mobile Phone Preparation Plus" installed, namely the one with the controls integrated into the RNS 315, and a Bury cradle on the dashboard (I think this is PR code 9WM though no PR code for phone prep is listed on the sticker in the car). Would I lose out on functionality by going to a non-"Plus" module?

        • I found out that the PR-9W7 is listed as "Mobile Phone Preparation High" according to some PR lists.

This means that the J/K/L modules (and similarly the M/N/P) modules correspond to Mobile Phone Preparation Standard/High/Plus respectively.

So at all boils down to the one question: what are the functional differences between Mobile Phone Preparation standard, High and Plus?

Moral of the story - it was a small issue. Didn't need the wiring loop I'd put on. A professional took it off, plugged it straight in and it all worked. Now just to get the microphone button working? Anyone in Tassie able to help?

Thanks will have a look, heard good things from others too! Any tuneups you'd recommend on a Mk VI TDI 2.0 while I'm at it?

                    • Hi All,
I am a newby on here and have a 2009 147 Tiguan it has Red MFC. It has a phone button on the radio & steering wheel but no bluetooth function. So looks like I need a new head unit if I want to take phone calls via bluetooth. So that is my main aim, if I could get something that does that & has Android car play then that would be a bonus.

Any suggestions prefer simpler options ( like me ) if that is possible.

                      Cheers Stewart

Your best best bet would be to get an rcd330g.
Has integrated Bluetooth and carplay/android auto support.

                          Hi Kamold,
Are they hard to install ? What about a mic for the blue tooth ?

I did a search for RCD330G on ebay plenty of stuff from China, are these OK ?

Sorry for all the questions, just on a leaning curve.

                          Cheers

                          • Bluetooth mic is integrated.
It's at the front on the left.
You can install an external mic but have to solder it to the internals
                            Install is very easy otherwise

Can't vouch for quality plenty of others have installed them. Ask them.
I'm an OEM only guy in general. Unless the aftermarket is clearly superior.

So are these available OEM as well as all the Chinese jobs ?

                              • No the OEM solutions are more expensive.
They are cheap and cheerful though.
