  • Hi, I have 2010 VW Polo (MY11) 1.2tsi 6R comfortline with a RCD310 stereo (Guessing from photos I've seen of that unit) and buttons on the steering wheel for accepting calls and voice command etc.. But I'm pretty sure that it does not have a Bluetooth module installed. Do you know which Bluetooth module I should get for my car or how I can find out which one to get? I've read a few threads but it's all a bit confusing to me. Or would I be better off replacing the stereo with a RNS510 (cost-wise). I just need to be able to answer/reject calls and have the sound come through the car speakers. And preferably have it fitted by someone as I am a noob at all of this and don't wanna damage the car! Can anyone help me out??

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

    • If you just want to answer calls then a 9w7 bt kit is ok and it will also stream music. But if you want to make and answer calls and have a phonebook display you will need a 9w7 kit. If you add a RCD510 OR RNS510 then you will also get phone book display on the radio unit.

        • Need help with 9W7 Bluetooth with RCD510 on gti mk6

          Hi Guy,

I have a vw golf gti mk6 and i believe my bluetooth was 9w2 and i tried to change it to a 9w7 but it doesnt seem to be working.
it comes up on the radio and the MFD but it keeps trying to connect to previous owners phone and i am unable to get it to display in the bluetooth section on the mobile to connect to. so basically it wont show up on my mobile and i cant search for the phone to connect to. i try my mates 9w7 module in my car and it connects up straight away so i dont know what the problem is. could it be coding? can some one help.

          this is my auto scan.

          • So are you saying you have two 9w7 - one you bought new and doesn't work and one that you took our of a friends car, plugged it in to yours and it did work?

If so, I would check the number of the back of the unit and post up here as it would seem as if the one you have is not compatible and you have the wrong version...

            • It looks like your coding for your BT unit might be wrong.

Use the long coding helper to fix it.

You need to remove telephone baseplate from coding if you don't have one (old school pins under the arm rest to hold the phone and connect to the car) and also remove keypad preparation if you don't have that.

                  • You need someone to hook up a VCDS cable and correct the configuration of the bt module.
There is plenty of info on basic vcds coding I can't post specific instructions right now.

                          • MY10 MKVI GTI Bluetooth

When I purchased my GTI in November 2009, Bluetooth was not a standard inclusion, so I opted for the Dealer fitted system. I have had no problems with it since new till a couple of months ago, when I updated my iPhone 6 software to iOS 8.3. Since then, every incoming call rings through the car, the call connects for about 2 seconds through the Bluetooth system, then reverts back to the handset. So then I have to grab the handset and switch it back to the Bluetooth connection to continue the call. All outgoing calls work perfectly through the Bluetooth.

So far, I have been unable to find the Bluetooth module. Its not under the drivers seat, or in close to the head unit, as I have removed that already. I am thinking it may be behind the glove box, but haven't got around to removing that yet.

I don't know what type Bluetooth module is fitted, that's why I am trying to find it, but it is called 'VW UHV'

I have tried another iPhone with iOS 8.3 and the same issue occurs...
I have now updated my phone to iOS 8.4, but the same issue happens.

Has anyone else had issues like this? Or be able to point me to where the module might be?

                            Thanks

                            • Prob best off to get a newer version control unit. Try and locate the control unit to get a part number and see if its a 9w7 or a nokia kit they fitted.
