Update in my notice post - It has come to my attention that many overseas distributors for Audiosources have been following my thread and seem to have misunderstood the intention for the current ANS series and stopped purchasing altogether to wait for the new unit. I'd just like to confirm that the current ANS series WILL CONTINUE TO BE SUPPORTED.
One of the perils of pre-launch announcement that is a little way off.
This clarification lets people know that the new unit is not a replacement but an up-market addition.
For future reference, this is how it should be done. If they do want to withdraw the old one, they do this AFTER the launch of the new model. The thing is why? After all, it is a perfectly good performer that has cost a considerable amount to develop. Why not make full use of it, even if it is at a lower price point. The newer model has more features and is at a higher price point.
So people need to work out what they need and then buy accordingly.

Well this is what I have been discussing with them, originally they planned to keep the current ANS series just in the domestic Chinese market and push the new units for overseas markets where the demand for higher quality software is higher. But then since they are going to keep producing the current ANS series anyway, it made sense to keep development going, and the next step is to realise that not everyone will need the new generation.
There are many people here who have bought my ANS units very early on and even before all the updates came, they found the unit to be quite satisfactory. It went through a process of decisions, initially they were planning to stop development and I made the announcement to reflect that, but that position has now changed, hence why I now have to clarify. Especially since it had the curious side effect on all these other distributors following my thread to stop buying the current ANS! It appears this thread has many overseas lurkers.

I live 14064.28KM away from Sydney and i have registered here just for this thread. i was going to buy the ANS-810 till i read that a new model is coming soon
Maybe if you edit the first post or add a link to explain more about the new models and current models it will help people like me.

Thank you,

P.S, thanks for email replies
No problem Nael, but I did add a notice link in the first post, it's the first thing in it and in big, bold red letters. Apparently it's not eye catching enough
If the two Fakra connectors are on separate leads, and not joined together, then you will not be able to get them into a combined socket. The various projections are offset.
just got myself a ans810 for a mk6 golf, its in and working but i noticed theres a few loose wires in the loom.
a couple of blue wires and a brown (back con), any ideas what i need to do with these or if anyone has a wiring diagram that would be great.
also my original radio has 2 outputs but the ans810 only accepts 1, will a dual fakra connector fix this?
thanks in advance.
Blue is for amplified aerial connection if needed.
Try just one fakra at a time and see if it meets your needs. If not purchase something like this locally and use it. dual fakra | eBay
The other wires with rca's are for reverse camera , rear 2nd screen etc . All are marked.

Audiosources is releasing a new generation of its unit, and I am hopeful to receive a test unit soon.
Just wondering if digital radio (DAB+) is likely to make it to the new version?
Also, how well does the bluetooth perform on these units, compared to the AS7608. I currently have a Dynavin D99 and the bluetooth is pretty good (it's apparently parrot hardware?) - a lot better than the AS7608 performed.

DAB+ will come later as an add on module, there's no set date yet and it's possible that it could also come to the current generation when that happens.
Bluetooth on the ANS is good, mic quality is average. It won't be as good as Parrot but I've not had any complaints about Bluetooth audio streaming quality. Can't comment on AS-7608, but depending on which version (there were 5 revisions) it could have had significantly different Bluetooth hardware.
Wow, reverted to older firmware as per DkNs recommendation and it worked! All is working well again and the reverse screen is gone (I don't have a camera) AND the menu timeout remained! Whoohoo, happy with ANS again.
