Turn the protector around Not the screen. When they polarize things they work one way and not the other.

Take your sunnies off and turn them up and down in front of the screen and see if it comes clear Our ticket machines had polarised glass in them and one had been put in crossways instead of up and down or vice versa.

When I looked at it normally I couldn't see through it If I turned my sunnies 90deg I could.

Update on the MCU issue - my mistake, you CAN actually downgrade the MCU, just can't flash the SAME version of MCU that you already have. This means those with the OPS being stuck issue can solve it simply by downgrading your MCU with the last update, until the issue is solved with the next update.

When is the next firmware due out? I am so sick of looking at the reversing screen even though i have no backup camera or sensors AND it shuts the audio off.

I'm not sure but I just said you can flash the previous MCU to stop this behaviour, in the post you quoted.

Yes they do. Not sure about use of the word 'factory'. The ANS head unit generates lines off the canbus info.

Yup, I've always wondered about VW's decision to build an entire module that costs hundreds of dollars when the steering sensor info was available to be read from the CAN-Bus all along.

The new platform will be rolled out across all models, but beginning with the more mainstream Golf / Passat etc model.

I have a 2004 Audi S4 with the RNS-E and Bose stereo, will one of your 8” Screen units fit this car. I am not sure if the CANBUS is compatible as i know the new RNS-510 and MMI units are incompatible.

I am looking to ditch the RNS-E but i don’t want to go for a screen smaller than 8” and also want to keep the OEM look so the usual double din head units won’t work either.

Unfortunately you will need a unit designed for the Audi CAN-Bus, and while my supplier does have one for the S4, it's 6.5 inch just like OEM:

I have a 2013 Jetta with bluetooth and OPS. I understand that the OPS will be displayed on the ANS 810 (might need a firmware downgrade) but how would the original bluetooth (not the one from ANS 810) interface with the unit? Is it possible to use the original mic for the bluetooth?

The unit comes with built in Bluetooth so you will not be able to use your OEM one. The current generation units also do not have an external Mic option, but I believe the new units will - have to confirm on that.
