Firmware updates for RNS510 units in Australia/NZ

Keep in mind that some of the newer firmware CDs erase the coding of the RNS510 so you should back that up with VCDS first and then restore the coding after the upgrade.

POI's need to be stored in the correct folder location (PersonalPOI) at the root (top level) of the SD card.

Yeah went there and clicked on the 4120 link that says 90.5.5 partitions and it goes to a broken link page.
Anyway the one I posted has the same thing probably.

Havent ever lost anything when updating firmware.

Ah those links, gotcha. I've had to restore coding when upgrading to one certain firmware. kamold may have since edited the ISO so that it's no longer a problem. Whoever uploaded it must've [re]moved it.

I was never able to get that ISO to work in may car. Must have burnt it to about 10 different types/brands of disc, and never had any luck. I've always been able to burn maps without an issue, so not sure if it is that FW4120 ISO that had issue? If someone has a a disc that they know works in their car, it'd be great if they could send it to me!!

Hi guys, so have had a quick read at the link provided by Ryan. As I don't have a cable is it best to stick with firmware 4020 so I don't have to recode the unit?

Use 4120 I have never recoded it ever and have done incremental upgrades without problems You need to have a C unit or higher for that version

thanks Hillbilly, so I don't screw this right up.. My unit is an original B version.. the part number changed when I upgraded to v3810 to 1t0035680D. will 4120 work with this without recoding?

Yup that's exactly right. It was an original B ver.. hoping 4120 can go into this unit.
