Firmware updates for RNS510 units in Australia/NZ

Hello,
I am about to buy a RNS510. From what I can see the best choice is a version P for LED (or later). I saw aussietig suggest he is running the modified 4120 on this, but its not 100% clear.

Can anyone confirm this FW will work fine on a version P (or later?). Anyone know the advantages to the later versions? Q etc

I have read just about every page and I'm not 100% sure so I thought I would ask.

edit: found the answer, you can get firmware for this model.

I have a 2011 model Tiguan and loaded FW 4120 which works great except the compass reads north and the GPS cannot see any SAT (0/0).I did a 5 hour drive on the weekend and nothing improved. I have the shark fin combo antenna factory installed. Do I need to get any coding changed and if so what needs to be changed.

To change the compass press the compass icon and it will change to heading up

Do a reset by holding down both left buttons and the far right hand one along the top at once

Doesnt need any coding

Hi All,
Can someone please confirm if i need the radio security code after doing a firmware update as the previous seems to have misplaced this and I tried calling VW and they dont have it on file so will need to remove the radio to get serial numbers etc....

Hoping not to have to remove the radio if need be, any assistance would be much appreciated.

I have just bought a new Octavia vRS with a 3T0035680B. HW version H60, SW version 3984 and Map version hdd 7005 (I asked the dealer to update the maps before I picked it up, but don't know what the newest version is)


I am going to update the SW version to a newer version as per the instructions on the site (4120), and have located some links in the **LOOK HERE FIRST** thread for v6.0 maps and SW.


I'd just like to ask, is 7005 the newest maps version? Is there a wiki of sorts that I can see when each version was released? Is the link to v6.0 the newest maps available?

Don't bother upgrading firmware yet as you'll have to reload after replacing the HDD...

my is wel 3 and now i am having some problem that my power battery from the car is every day empty.
is there any solution to fix it. I did disconet my rns510 from the car. there is some information about rns510 in attachment. please anyone help.

Did you install the European version as the 4120 for Australia partitions the HDD differently and it wont then load a euro map as the partition is too small

By the link you have listed it appears you have the wrong firmware version if as it seems you are in Europe I see from your Newbies post you are in Holland so this will be the wrong version I would think. Someone may be able to point you to where you can get the correct Euro version
