You can load as many as you like (within your .db3 file) IIRC, but when you select which categories you want displayed on the map...then 10 is the magic number.
+1 for resetting the unit.
Also...what is the size of your .db3 file Easter?
No not talking about how many unit can display!
There is a magic number of categories you can load and not kill the POI functionality.
Sorry Easter ... the 25MB was my latest experiment with 243 POI categories created and with all POIs refreshed up to Feb 2013.
Just forgot that this thread has a link to it.
I reverted back late last night (in my Google cloud) to previous version with 119 categories but unfortunately POIs are as at Nov 2012.
But hey ... still fcuking better than the 2 year old Sensis map it operates on!
Unfortunately you obviously downloaded the 25MB while I also thought it would work and was about to share with everyone.
Basically loading the monster 25MB greys out and kills the POI functionality. Not just ability to show 10 on your map, but even using it for navigation and searches.
Had this problem when originally experimented and creating the very first custom Australian POI db3 file for the V4.1 map.
Was kind of hoping by now, the problem had been overcome! How wrong I was after spending the whole weekend compiling and creating the file.
Anyhow it's back to the drawing board, but time I don't have again trying to figure out the magic (maximum) number of POI categories!
Okay fellas ... still don't know what is the magic number!
But chopped over 70 categories out and picked the ones with the most POI co-ordinates.
Final stats: 173 POI categories with nearly 73K individual co-ordinates and 18MB
POI on screen buttons are functional and not greyed out.
Will live with that and job finished!
The matching POI.DB3 file now uploaded also in post #21.
NOTE: Only POI categories within FOOD, MOTOR & PUBLIC TRANSPORT folder have been added into the Master "All Categories" List, as our units unfortunately can't handle or accept all my POI categories and causes the POI button to be disabled and greyed out. Again have not figured out the magic number (i.e. maximum limit of categories).
I've just recently integrated the poi.db into the v6 maps and loaded them onto my RNS510. I seem to have a selection of POI's available (can see petrol stations/carparks etc) on my map. However I can't seem to find speed cameras, 40 zones etc. Where should I be looking for these?

Cheers.
You need to download and load the PersonalPOI.db3 via SD Card instead (if you want my cameras).
You've actually loaded the optional file. The SD card file is actually mandatory if you want all my POIs and especially cameras.
Basically not possible to append all my custom POI categories into the original map, as crashes the POI functionality and totally disables and greys out the button on screen. This is the magic number problem I've been talking about.
But somehow unit can handle the extra POIS only via SD Card.
Also ... nobody normally searches for cameras as a destination. So didn't bother adding them to the POI.db3 file.
