Surprise surprise.. The block wasn't bored today. haha. That's ok he told me to drop in tomorrow. He'll have the block bored and a deck height for me so i can sit down over the weekend and and do some calculations to get a pin height for some pistons..

Yeah i forgot to mention that's the colour. Figured you might want to change it so i didn't bother saying anything.Originally posted by dubai gti View Postdon't tell me that...just spent the morning painting my 'box and new manifold in matching 'Ford Blue'....although you didn't build this cracker of an engine......just thrashed the pants of it
Oh, and i didn't "thrash the pants off it". Sure i gave it some stick every now and then, but thrashing the pants off it implies i didn't take care of it.. Which i did.

I built the engine and it does go quite well, could have done with oversize valves and porting to suit to get more out of it... Is pants were un-thrashed last i drove it in preens mk1. Good performer through the rev range...

Block deck height from crank centre line is 221.69mm...
Just thought i'd add this incase i lose the card the measurement is written on..
Currently doing some piston research, deciding on comp ratios and brand.. So it's still happening..

Yeah.. Probably not. I do have plans for something like what you are talking about in the future, however..Originally posted by gldgti View Posti reckon go for those 13.4:1 pistons... then you can run a duel fuel methanol/diesel setup :-P
(What about a Sneaky Pete dry shot nitrous setup??)Last edited by Preen59; 26-09-2009, 10:31 PM.

Yes. Somewhere between 11 and 12.Originally posted by gldgti View Posthaha.
seriously, are you thinking higher than 10.5:1?
I'm thinking 11 though, because an extra 4 or 5 hp really isn't worth the hassles associated with more than 11:1 comp. I mean, from what i've been reading this engine should make a scratch over 200 at the flywheel.. Which is what my mate's Mk1 escort made and it could keep up with a worked evo.. Which is hella fast.
