Surprise surprise.. The block wasn't bored today. haha. That's ok he told me to drop in tomorrow. He'll have the block bored and a deck height for me so i can sit down over the weekend and and do some calculations to get a pin height for some pistons..
Cheers guys. Don't go giving me too much praise.. I haven't assembled it and had it running yet! haha.
Good thing the block hasn't been bored.. I wasn't really thinking about it.. I have to wirecut the holes in my torqueplate so it can be used.. I'll get onto that next week.

Yeah i forgot to mention that's the colour. Figured you might want to change it so i didn't bother saying anything.
Oh, and i didn't "thrash the pants off it". Sure i gave it some stick every now and then, but thrashing the pants off it implies i didn't take care of it.. Which i did.

Sorry dude i just have a fear of selling things and people not liking what they got.. Mainly because i hate when it happens to me! haha. It's all good.
I built the engine and it does go quite well, could have done with oversize valves and porting to suit to get more out of it... Is pants were un-thrashed last i drove it in preens mk1. Good performer through the rev range...

I'm thinking 11 though, because an extra 4 or 5 hp really isn't worth the hassles associated with more than 11:1 comp. I mean, from what i've been reading this engine should make a scratch over 200 at the flywheel.. Which is what my mate's Mk1 escort made and it could keep up with a worked evo.. Which is hella fast.

yes, it is indeed. man if you make that much you'll be FLYING.
btw - you should see the bracket someone has made for the alternator in the diesel i just bought - i reckon you'd love it for a future project its got this nice big flat bit of steel infront of the IP just waiting for something to be bolted there....
