          • Oh yea cool, i'll drop him a pm.

Yea that photo spot was ace! One of my drum students lives nearby and I thought i'd make the most of my clean car and take some snaps.

News on the engine: Well, the bloody crank pulley for the ribbed belt is buggered. Its just the outer lip which has kinda folded in from where the chassis leg bent against it slightly. Was only light contact, but enough to ruin it that the belt wont sit in it properly.

It's a pulley unique to AMK/BAM engines so not easy to source

As a last resort I called Vince at Audi Centre Perth who quoted over $300 ex Germany!!!

            NO THANKS!

I'll pick it up in person while i'm there in a few weeks

            • Wade, just use the complete Belt setup from a Mk3, simple and easy to come by.

Ha cool tip, but the pulley on the AMK has a rubber harmonic balancer in it, so I dont think i'll take the risk with the incorrect pulley setup.
This engine has already been thru the ringer and i'll be squeezing an extra 60bhp out of it too!

You can see the outer edge folded in here...

                    • Yes, I am writing from London right now!!

I took some more snaps before i left but didn't get a chance to upload sorry. I just painted the charge pipe, put it on as well as the intake trunking.
It's on hold while i'm away and I'm getting some parts cheap while i'm here.
Have to get that vibration damping crank pulley and the engine mount brackets which no-one here seems to be able to help with.
I also test fitted the big K&N on the MAF sensor too which is going to look the sexy time.

I really cant do that much more without installing the motor now as its all wiring, plumbing, and fitment of the intercooler piping and stuff.

The Peloquin also has to go in the gearbox first too, as well as the mechanical clutch actuator to replace the hydraulic setup.
I'll also get Joe to get the flywheel machined in the meantime, while he's waiting for me to send him the pully and stuff.

There's also quite a lot of the breather pipes and various vacuum hoses around the engine that are either broken or can just be removed, but I need to sus it all out in the manuals as obviously some are still needed

Anyway, I'm jet-lagged to buggery so I'll be in touch...

                            • To be honest, London is kinda giving me the $hits a bit. It's so bloody massive and scattered. People have no idea about customer service either, they just look at you with a dumbass look on their face when you ask them a question.
It's got plenty of stuff to do tho, i'm just having trouble finding cool vw places to check out. They all seem to be out in the sticks.
