  • Fitted up the sway bar, had to fettle with the bolts on the centre stabiliser bracket to make it all fit nicely.

    Mounts on.

    • Looks the goods, Pete! Glad to see the SCCH gear worked out nicely.

The red is a bit unusual.. But hey, you're the man doing the work and paying the bills! haha.

        • Did you consider stiffening up the beam itself rather than adding the rear anti-roll bar or do you want to be able to remove the bar for running in the rain?

              • Sandblasting was $290 all up for 10 wheels, 2 rear beams and 1 antique weather vane.

The finish is quite coarse on the wheels but paint should smooth it out.

Powder coating was $190 for two beams, about 10 small assorted brackets and 1 antique weather vane.

                Just Powder Coating

They're across the road from each other and will happily work together.

                • went and checked them out today. Turns out the powdercoating is too thick on the Porsche wheels for them to straight sandblast (they could but the finish would be quite coarse). So industrial paint stripper it is

                        • Another piece of my VW jigsaw puzzle.

Probably won't ever see another pair of NOS sway bar brackets.

These were a lucky find on UK ebay

I've got all the other bits, they came with the sway bar kit.

                            • I've been a bit busy with fixing the other race car and racing this month, also 've had to fix a cabby and work on the Passat before DOVW.

Work is progressing though, there's more stuff headed here from the UK, organising that took some time.

Aiming to get paint on it over Christmas. Re-assembly won't take too long.
