I'm off to Sandown tomorrow for Round 1 of the 2015 Victorian Super Sprint Championship. http://www.vssc.com.au/
The car will have been out 3 weekends in a row!
There's very few interior shots in the thread and I can never find one when I want one so Jodie packed the 8mm fish eye lens today to grab a few shots.
It is probably posted or we may have spoken about it bit can you tell me your geometry Peter. I may have some suggestions
Yep, I was thinking of revisiting that soon, especially the rear setup.
I'm actually in the US right now, I'll have to dig around for the specs when I get back or just go and get the alignment rechecked so I can figure what shims I need for the rear.
Ohh missed this. No idea if it is a lined one (gulp) being the older 1.2 I would guess so, but... The new ones have the exhaust manifold cast into the head, which wasn't suitable for performance
Went out to Sandown today for round 3 of the Vic Super Sprint Championships.
I've just had the head off for reconditioning and only just got it back on in time for today.
Compression was down on no3 a bit, this turned out to be damage to the sealing face of the valves.
In all 5 exhaust and 2 inlet valves had to be changed. Most likely cause is foreign body ingestion.
Either track debris on the one occasion when I ran without an air cleaner, or the multiple spark plug electrodes I've burnt off.
Car is fast again now. Conditions weren't the greatest today, best I managed was 1:31

Warming up in the morning sun
The sun didn't last long
V8 Supercar chasing and not appearing able to pass.
(I don't think he was trying very hard.)
By 3:30 the day had gotten pretty dark and the track cooled rapidly. Combined with fierce winds I really couldn't push like I had earlier. The car was really unsettled into the high speed braking areas.
All in all a good day. The 15 minute sessions were pretty grueling though - 10 laps in and you wish they'd just wave the flag. Don't know how people race for hours at a time.
