That would be a West WX10.

1340cc so Hyabusa powered I think.

Crazy fast, he was doing 1:39 lap times

There was a West WR1000 running as well he was doing 1:38

Makes me nervous when they run these cars in with the sedans they're hard to see and they come up fast.

You've just got to rely on their driver realising that and driving accordingly.

    • When I was going through scrutineering they had the scales turned on so I finally know the weight of the car.

      It weighed in at 850kg

My safety gear was in the car I just weighed all of that at 4.24kg.

I had about 12l of fuel on board as well as 2l too much oil in the dry sump tank. The car was wet from the rain too. The dorian was onboard and weighs about 1kg. The washer bottle had around 1Litre in it.

So I guess it weighs around about 830kg with an empty fuel tank.

This was with the steel wheels, the alloy wheels are much lighter, I'll have to weigh them.

So are you still leaning towards a Salisbury in the long term or did the Wavetrac perform well enough?

        • With the diff I'm trying to figure out the impact on my driving style.

At the moment I'm too aggressive and tend to overdrive the car.

I need to make cleaner corners and increase my exit speeds.

To some extent a plate style diff will force me clean up the way I drive, but I think I should clean up the style before I get the diff as the wavetrac lets me get away with my bad driving.

Anyway, here's some track side vision thanks to my official team photographer, Jodie.

You should hear it inside the car! Ear plugs are essential!

                  • Sorry I missed that track day Pete! Really looking forward to seeing this thing turn a wheel in anger (in person)

Those Jenvey throttle bodies sure do make all the right noises!

                      • Nice one Peter

The article is mega cool and to me in an 70/80's style look inside

Though in my opinion it was way more worthy of the larger cover space but still cool

Looking forward to the paper versions

                        • Off to Sandown today for round 3 of the Victorian Super Sprint Championships.

Air box now fitted so hopefully I'm within the 75dB noise limit.

                            • Great weather today. We started late and here was a lot of recoveries today so I only got three runs in.

                              Here's some pics.

There's more pics on a new website Jodie has built to chronicle the car.

                              http://pragmaticmotorsport.com/index...06-13-4th-race

Best run today was a 1:29.

Had a few exciting moments as I was exploring how far I could go with deep braking.

I'm not liking these Girling G60s on the track. Apart form being heavy their not giving me the kind of feel I want. They do stop you pretty quick though.

I dropped the car to the lowest it can go on the Konis and I mounted the spoiler lower.

I'm not happy with the spoiler yet I think it can go lower yet and I need to finish off the ends.

Videos - maybe tomorrow, my chest and arms are sore from wrestling the Hoosiers around the track, CBF right now.

Fuel economy is better than white which is a nice surprise as 20L of 105 octane race fuel is about $80.

                              • In order to bring the noise levels down I installed an airbox to replace the foam aircleaner.

I didn't get pinged for noise today so I guess it did the job.

It's a Jenvey air box and a BMC pod filter.

I had to cut the airbox up and re fibreglass it so as to fit it under the bonnet line.

The trumpets are new too. I had to fit shorter ones to make fitting and removing the air box possible. It's all quite tight in there.

I also replaced the fuel rail feeding the injectors. The one I that I got with the Jenveys had barbed fittings and I had a few issues with leaks. These are Jenvey rails but have the AN -6 fittings.
