Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • DQ380/381 7sp DSG Service

    Hi all

looking for information in regards to the service intervals and parts required to service the latest 7sp wet clutch gearbox, I have had a search online but have not found anything really to go by.... Can anyone verify what the intervals are and if the fluid and filters are the same as used for the DQ250 6sp wet clutch?

Dq381 is essentially a newer version of the dq500.
Fluid is the same across all generations of dq250 and DQ500, however the VW part number changes however for the DQ381/DL381 fluid.
Aftermarket brands like Ravenol, Liquimoly etc have the same fluid for DQ250/DQ500/DQ381.

After looking at the ECS site i can see the filter is a different size.... what is interesting there seems to be a VW OE dsg fluid that is specific to the 7sp , well at the very least its in a different shape bottle and has a different part number. Would you know anything about that? I was looking under mk7.5 gti / facelift and came across different OE fluid options between the 6sp and 7sp
