V6 Amarok Handling on Wet Roads

    Hi All,

I've had my Sportline for a few months now and have noticed an unnerving trait on wet roads and I'm not sure if it's the OEM tyres or an Amarok specific trait.

My ute has the stock 18 inch wheels fitted with Continental Cross Contact tyres. I notice that when turning...

  • Replacement Tyres from OEM Continentals

    Hi all,

About 2 years and 20,000km ago I had my original Continental tyres replaced with Bridgestone MY02 by the dealer at a scheduled service (I checked the price was equivalent to going to a reputable Tyre shop).

There is still plenty of tread but after having driven...

    Frameless Windows in the Wet

Just wondering if fellow Arteon owners are experiencing the following in the wet:

    1) open either front door and water is dumped onto the doors and seats. For example, water on the seat is about the size of a couple of thumb prints and water splatters along the seat belt, lower parts of...

    7 Speed DSG starting soon?

I've just noticed that as of yesterday the VW Aus site is showing the Alltrack as 7 Speed DSG and you can no longer build the Wolfsburg edition. The MY 18.5 brochure is ambiguous saying 6 in some parts and 7 in others. Does anyone know for sure when the 7 speeds DSG (wet clutch) is coming to the Passat...

Octavia RS169 DSG Wet Clutch or Dry Clutch?

    Hello everyone,

I can't seem to narrow down what DSG box is in the RS169. Is it a wet clutch or dry clutch unit?

I recall reading the RS162 was wet clutch but the RS169 went to dry clutch?

    wet track tyre

Has anyone got any feedback on how the new federal 595-RSRR fares as a wet track tyre or how it compares in general to the older 595-RSR. I've always stuck with my street tyres on a wet track and this has been RE003's lately, but I need something that will stretch the gap out until semi time on a drying...

    Compression test

Ok so I performed a compression test today on my MK5 Gti.
The test was performed on a hot engine, with throttle open and fuel pump fuse removed.
My results were 190-195psi across all cylinders. Wet test was 235-240psi across all cylinders.

Now I was thinking because of the increase...

    Quick tyre recommendation

Howdy folks, just after a quick tyre recommendation for my GTI.

Had the car service a week or two ago and the good blokes at Mike Weber's mentioned the tyres were due - one of the rears had a puncture and all were generally worn.

In what I can only assume was a matter of...

Do "wet keys" work on golf mk7?

I'd like to buy a "wet key" for use in the ocean. The idea is that I'd get a key cut, without the microchip, to open the door. The key would not need to start the car, just open the door.

Does anyone know if this will work with the new safety lock feature?

    Got a Mk1 Golf 4 Door.
When it rains... the car gets wet inside...

Water can be seen dripping from the area near the fuse box on the front passenger side, and also near the accelerator pedal on the drivers side.

Also does anyone other than VW Heritage do the door...

I've been pretty happy with my 9n polo gti this last year or so, but I'm starting to feel the need for something with a boot for longer trips, family shopping expeditions etc..

If anyone can offer some advice would be much appreciated.

About 2 days ago I was driving to work in the wet and I was getting some front wheel spin. I gave it a bit on a few take offs today on dry roads and was getting the same issue, front wheel spin and some torque steer.

  • steering wheel leather freshen up/repair

    Morning guys.

Just a quick couple of questions for anyone who may be able to help.

The steering wheel on the GTI has a 'rough spot' at the 2 o'clock position on the rear of the steering wheel.

How should i go about starting to fix this? (preferably without removing...
