X-Pack Paint protection?

I tried to look at your video, but it has been removed by user.
Yeah, sorry i was rather liberal with that word in that context there, hey?
Every car I have had the product applied to has not had to have re-application to. nor have i come across any cases it needed re-application due to wear&tear, just accidents where the paint needed re-application, thus the X-Pack product.
So for all intensive purposes it is permanent. in the rare circumstance it turns out to not to be permanent, it is re-applied, assuming you have stuck to the T&C's. so the end result is the same isn't it, your protected. isn't that why one would purchase this product?
I haven't looked into independent testing by any serious scientific community that is unrelated to motor one. so until i get around to it, i wont say there is or there isnt research on that (feel free to google yourself, youll probably get around to it before i do.)
as for "never breaks down" where did you find this exact claim? i had a browse on the MotorOne website and didnt see those exact words. if it was your local salesperson, that is out of my control.
as for hardness, its good. it protects against a lot. but dont go into it thinking it will protect against stone chips. from my research none of the available products on the market do. thats what 3M film and cosmetic repairs programs are for.
hope ive been of some help

HAHAHA i couldnt leave this one alone.Originally posted by GTI180 View PostI have thousands of dollars of xpack at home from being in the industry and I don't rate that crap at all, I polish my car with it now and then coz it makes the paint feel smooth. I could actually sue the company for the time I've spent cutting bird ****e n egg out of the paint.....which I should never have had to do apparently
if your from the industry, then you would know, and i quote from the instructions in the box "Remove enviromental contaminants (eg. bird droppings, bug splatter, tree sap) as soon as possible in order to neutralise the acidic affects of these contaminants."
so given you have been "cutting" it off, your either using a pair of scissors or a diamond cutting polish? going out on a limb here, but i'd say motorone says "no" to these processes.
as for egg, i believe that isnt covered. because egg shells are hard as **** and upon breaking on the car leave tiny scratches. also, as you say plural, do you get egged a lot?

The "never breaks down" is under the FAQ section of the website.
In regards to hardness, you didn't really answer my question, what is the hardness of X-Pack on the mohs or pencil hardness scale? Or hasn't any testing been carried out?
You say there's terms and conditions, does this mean, unlike other warranted paint protection products, I have to use specific products to maintain X-Pack?
Lastly, can you safely say that X-Pack has as good sheeting and beading properties and durability as the likes of the market leaders Ceramic Pro and Opticoat? Would love to see a comparison between the three.
And BTW, it's the egg white not the shell that does the damage.08 Golf GTI - SOLD

ok, found it. good call lol - i dont feel like i could do that question real justice. it would be a cop-out no matter how i answered it. i can seek an answer from motorone and get back to you if you like?Originally posted by Wolfgang View PostThe "never breaks down" is under the FAQ section of the website.

As for hardness, I haven't read any literature detailing it's hardness in any specific detail. again, i will source an answer for you if you like...
no, you dont have to buy specific products as far as i can tell. i recommend people just go and buy a 2.5L bottle of PH neuteral car shampoo from the local cheaper auto for about $8.95 with which to wash their car. there are about 3 pages of T&C (but then again, everything these days does). its mostly covering things like remove bird poo asap, wash regularly with ph neutral shampoo, don't wax and polish, etc etc. again, I can go into further detail if you are seriously interested.
hmmmm good point for the comparison. just need three people to go out and buy new cars, get them all applied and off to the test track we go.
As for the egg, that description was given to me by my head detailer. i have no egg experience, having a somewhat sedate life as a youth and no mortal teenage enemies to suffer a thorough egging.

The reason I'm asking all these questions is that apart from the marketing talk, which there's plenty of, nothing is convincing me to apply X-Pack to my car. After all, if it was as good as claimed, professional detailers across the country, or the world in fact, would be using it. The fact that one of the worlds best detailers, Paul Dalton uses Modesta, not X-Pack says a lot.08 Golf GTI - SOLD

I can understand that your trying to find the best product to apply to your car. after all, for many people a car means more to them than their partner.
im not here to give you marketing talk, although it is tempting. i just want to provide you with the information i have at hand.
I wont trash talk competitors, as most products tend to have some benefit, or else they wouldn't be a successful brand, let alone be taken up by large luxury company names.
At the end of the day, every one has personal preference, whether that is because of word of mouth, personal experience, or some other reasons.
as for the worlds best detailer, how does one attain this title? i wasnt aware that people in that profession were ranked.
I had a look at the modesta website. seems to be a good enough concept, although the troll in me found this line amusing: "Modesta will reduce the cost and time to maintain the exterior eliminating oxidation & fading of the paint before it begins to increase the resale value."
"before it begins to increase the resale value" haha people really need to proof read
