You are right in everything. I don't believe that the GTechniq will last 2 years but time will tell.

Looking to build up a kit for about $200.

 So far I have

 Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate
 Mint Microfibre Plush Wash Mitt
Mint Microfibre Drying Towel Waffle Weave Extra Large
Zaino Z2 Pro Show Car Polish

Being my first car, I don't really know what else I need.

 Thoughts?

I will be buying from carcareproducts.com.au as they have a pretty good range and have a good rep on these forums.

 Thanks all.2014 Golf GTI

A wax or sealant to protect the paint is a good idea.Originally posted by Hooti3 View Post

Sealants have more durability than waxes and are generally easier to apply.

To top up protection in between applications a spray wax like Duragloss Aquawax is a good way to go.

I have been using zymol titanium wax recently and it works amazingly!
It's an effort to apply because it needs to be massaged in by hand but it's worth it.
Recently i bought some nanolex paint sealant because I lived the way the glass sealant works.
My question is l, am I able to apply both the zymol and nanolex in such a manner that having both will help? Or is it a waste of time and only one should be applied?
 Thanks

 m3103,

to be honest, you should just leave the nanolex as the sealant is pretty strong as is.

if you decided you wanted to layer, you would seal first and follow wax later (week later best personally i think)

However saying this, would it look better with both? trial and .... well disappointment lol. Hard to say!Car Care Products Australia

Im confused - but that's not hard for me. What are all your suggestions for the best product and procedure for brand new metalic black (has lot of metalic fleck in it). I would like maximum protection over maximum gloss - but if I can have both that's good. Price is not so much an issue, application might be though. I've heard that Nanolex is the best for new dark coloured cars, is this right?

Great write up too- expect purchases soon

Maxim - I find the Nanolex to be fantastic - gives great protection from the elements and a great shine to boot as well. I use it on my black peart and it comes up great, even though it is no longer brand new. It is also easy to apply and with maintenance (particularly if using the nanolex shampoo) you only need to redo every 12 months.NickZ
