  • AFS failure error message. Service Manual for Superb 3T

    Hey Guys,

Just had the error AFS Headlight Control warning come up and I need to change the part. Has anyone one done this? was it easy to do?. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the service workshop manual.

    Cheers

in the octavia, the afs controller is behind the climatronic controller.
i'm assuming the same for the superb.

Thx Darkshadow -did you have to remove the headlight - or can it be done while on the car

depends what the issue is. unlikely the need to remove the headlight with your issue.

the lighting system is made up of:-
        1. head lamp with ballast (for xenon)
        2. head lamp motor/actuator (for self leveling)
        3. head lamp shutter (for bi-xenon)
        4. front self-leveling sensor (on the front passenger side suspension arm)
        5. rear self-leveling sensor (on the rear passenger side suspension arm)
        6. afs controller (located behind the climatronic controller)

i'm assuming if anything from 2 to 5 above fails/malfunctions, then the afs controller would complain.
then again, the afs controller could be kapput itself.

Thanks darkshadow. - Will this be the caused of my headlight not working, as I changed over my bulbs and still would not work on passenger side.

btw - I ordered a part from o/s yesterday for US$40. Skoda Seat VW Xenon Range AFS Headlights Unit Dynamic AFS 5M0907357C | eBay

Can you believe Skoda Australia quoted me $480 for this AFS controller

Any one experienced this at all?
Replaced the LHF headlight with brand new unit from the UK.
Lights all work now but it still produces AFS error and warning light.
Lights have no turn function etc.
Light also moves and points outward giving my car an bog eyed look.
Anyone else had any issues similar to this after new light installed?
Have no idea how to fix this and don't want to go to my local Skoda dealer as they are robbers.
