Thanks for your updates, just wondering where you bought your dog bone insert and does it suit 22 Sept 2015 build date? It seems the cut of for suitability is around this date? My car will bounce and thump when it loses traction, feels like the front end is going to fall out!

1st & 2nd gear have been a bit hard to get into lately, not sure if its the weather or what. Its been over 6 months since I installed the CTS Short shifter, so maybe it has finally settled in and now the linkage cable needs aligning.
So after a quick google and youtube search I found how to align the Cable linkages. Seemed better on the test drive around the Block, but The real test is if the Mrs thinks its better as she drives it to work every day.
Just watch the youtube video, hardest part is trying to get the gear knob boot off.

Ripped the Oil Catch can out, unfortunately it vibrates around the firewall. I filed the Dowl off and tapped and put a bolt thru for a longer dowel. Still not very nice, so its off the car.
Its a nice bit of kit, but the mounting point has let it down.
Ill look at other options once the Clutch is sorted.
As the car has been in stock power levels (about 160kW at the wheels) for a few months as the clutch was slipping, I've added 2psi via the JB4 Map6 with some boost limiting per gear (1st/2nd). And WOW, that's all the car need to wake up, so really looking forward to getting the clutch sorted so I can go back to 200+ kW..Last edited by HPRS230; 17-05-2018, 05:18 PM.

SO.... Ordered a Clutch Kit with another Member to get a better deal.
We have gone with the NPC Heavy Duty Organic kit, which also replaces the flywheel with a single mass one, about 4kg lighter too!
Will get installed next week, then will need to Bed it in for a 1000km or so, then we can go back to 200kw at the wheels and over 400Nm...
Next on the list is a better oil catch, maybe go with 42DD (~350) or a VW Racing Line (~800) one
Also on the list is some Spring Rubbers to increase the Spring Rate for track days.
Its the same kit as Hardings sell.

Today was the day the NPC Kit (above) was installed at Bayside Performance Services, and top blokes they were.
The 2min drive review.
- 0-2000rpm on or off throttle there is chatter (but racecar)
-The bite point is just off the floor (but racecar).
I would say that both these features will get better with time.
It has 30km of driving.
- The pedal feel however is stock
I was going to baby it for 1000km as recommended by NPC, but Ill re-install the JB4 at the weekend and do the odd pull every now and then over the 1000km, see how shes holds.
NPC
"The recommended bed in period is 1000km’s of regular driving.
Avoid any clutch dumping during this period. You can lean on it but don’t go thrashing the car in this time.
If the clutch does slip then get off the pedal immediately and let the clutch settle in more.
1000km’s on the highway will not bed the clutch in. You need to drive the vehicle around town and go through the gears as much as possible because the engagement of the clutch is what settles it in."

How good is FedEx from USA! Ordered Sunday Night Aus time, had it Thursday lunch time!
The side to side gear selection feels a bit sloppy, so had a look at the retaining clip for the cable is a bit stuff, (install error day 1),
So got the ECS Tuning side to side kit, and a Alignment pin.
So will install that this weekend, May leave it on the stock feel, but might go 20% reduction, will see how it is. Will all so do a Brake and clutch Bleed, reinstall BMS catch can to Engine mount.
Got a nice 4 inch Dial Tyre Pressure gauge for track days, and ordered some stickers for the helmet Ill be getting soon.
Clutch is feeling better, so hoping a bleed will make it better again, then it will be dyno time....

Skoda Sunday...
Re install BMS catch can to the engine mount.
Replace side to side shifter arm with the ECS Tuning unit. Has made the side to side a lot nice. Left as stock position, may go 20% reduction but don't want to make it easy to achieve a 'Money Shift'....
Cleaned out intake track with a can of SCA intake cleaner, bleed brakes and clutch.
Found front tyres are well shagged, so will sort them out this week

New P Zeros on today, the Current Tyres have lasted bang on 24,000km, Prob not bad for the hard life they have had....
Once I'm happy, Ill start turning on Starting Vibration and Lock Elec Diff setting via OBDeleven to get a bit more traction, along with go to map 6
Should be a bit of a weapon again!

Got the green light to run the Map 6 from BMS, go with that, I'm booked for happy laps at lakeside to get some better logs and hunt and pass a few fast cars....

Did Happy laps on Sunday just gone, Car felt really good and Pulled nicely. Clutch feels stock, if not a touch softer.
The only problem was the Brakes while on Track... Hopefully I can save the pads and just bleed the system.
Service and Airbag replacement Book for Nov, Ill also get Dealer to drop the VAQ Diff Oil and Clean the Filter, as I've read a few Golf R's having Problems around the 3 year/60k km mark, So Ill get that done a year early. I'll also try and get them to up the Oil to 5W-40 (normally 5W-30).
Been on the hunt for Rally Style Mud Flaps, very keen on the Rally Armour but no Skoda kit, but I have Emailed to see if the GOlf Mk7 ones will be ok. The Skode front inner guard mounting holes are more in-board than a MK7 Golf GTI, so the front may not stick out as far, but the Rears should be ok, Which is what I want as the Rear bumper is starting to get ripped up.
Major Mod next will be Brakes I think. I wont be doing any Suspension Mods (Lower control Arms, Springs, Dampers, Coilovers) as my drive way is so bad plus its a daily driver with the odd track day, not the other way round. On that note,
I'm also on the look out for Spring Rubbers to increase the Spring Rate for track use, Yes it raises the Ride height, but stifferning the spring will help cornering a touch I feel.

I've had a tune done to my 162tsi manual and 4-5-6 is starting to slip! Very keen to look at clutch options.

NPC heavy duty Organic Clutch (NPC make the Harding Performance kit) with is a single mass unit.
The Feel: Same same, if not a touch softer
The Take up: its still right at the bottom, ie not a lot of travel
- I had to remove a couple of washers from my clutch stop so it felt like it had some travel....
- I have taken out the bleed restriction, which might help bring it a touch higher, maybe not sure
The Chatter: Yes there is chatter, not sure if we have gotten use to it, or its a lot quieter.
- It was like rocks in a bucket, so maybe it is a bit better with a few km on it.
Hope that helps mate.

Did a tyre rotation today, pulled the pads and they were nearly on the wear indicators, another member was helping and had a 2nd hand set he had swapped out due to track performance wasn't that good, Remsa pads. Rotors were still with in spec so will see how they go. Quick brake bleed as well.
Once the rotors are out of spec, I'll prob get a set of DBA T3 slotted.
Nothing else really planned for a while.
Intercooler and real tune is still in the list, along with the LCA and new tyres....
