RE VCDS Traffic:
We did the coding in the Garage, so maybe it needs to be outside.
didnt spend too much time on it, we both had places we needed to be.
Ill make a copy of the above info, and see for next time we have a go.

Also, Prob better to ask in the golf PP part, but can you change diff settings via the VCDS? Harder/softer?

it isn't the TMC not working, it's the controller not accepting the new value saying it was 'out of range'
It is like the old days when people were trying to change the power steering weight in a mkV Golf to the same value as the GTI - same controller part number, but it just won't take the adaptation (request out of range)
So maybe on these new ones it needs a different value, or the particular channel is now locked, we're confident someone will figure it out!

Edit: we also checked my car which is a few months older and mine took 1024 and TMC is working in it - so it would seem this is the step that is holding us up

Oh, that is weird. I'm out of ideas then. Are you using VCDS or OBDEleven? I've been using OBDEleven for my stuff.

Both the obdeleven forum and briskoda are saying use 20103. The link below has all the latest coding tricks. You may need to create a log in to view.

1024 is all you need for Australia. 20103 has more bits set, but it includes bit 10 (1024). I think each bit represents a traffic provider call sign (or something, maybe a frequency offset?) to listen for. Or the whole number is the provider ID, but 1024 is so obviously a power of 2 I think it's treated as a bit field.

Whispbar? Make sure the rack isn't hard up against the end of the rail. I managed to lose one of the rail ends on mine & the other was on the way on it's first road trip.

Yes - but I have issues with the sunroof not being able to open
Will contact them tomorrow - hopefully the bracket can be modified

I must admit all my fox MTB shorts have a tights insert with a gel pad for your rump. I don't no how I did big rides when I was younger. They make a difference after 4-5 hours compared to nothing.

When I got my rocky I was worried about the carbon frame squashing with the clamp on my pro rack I put a cloth around the frame. It come out doing 110 near the Melb airport. Thank god for the wheel straps. I Strapped the **** out of it with tie downs after that.

I've got an Element 999 - using the wispbar bike racks as well - had Thule in my previous car and they were super noisy, these are supposed to be much quieter
If it wasn't for the sunroof I wouldn't have bothered - never planned on getting another one but car came with all the extras
